Got to love the interwebs for those pictures :D :)

It can't sound worse then "Wii" yet ppl already got used to it :p

Btw

IGN has some new info on the accessories:

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/736/736936p1.html

These 3 will be available at launch:

Six Axis
Image

Price: 5,000 Yen (~$42.3)

Remote Control
Image

Price: 3,600 Yen (~$30.5)

Memory Card Converter
Image

Price: 1,500 Yen (~$12.7)

Pretty decent prices if you ask me. I was expecting a ripoff for the memory card converter.

Teh Sick sex0rz?

For a controller I find 40 bucks a bit expensive, if it would keep the same price in euros that is, same for the remote. I'd say 30- 35 would be better for the controller and 25 for the remote. How much do the dual shocks go for anyway?

Well, the Sixaxis seems pretty overpriced to me. But twelve bucks for this Memory Card convertor sound really good, on the other hand.

By the way: Ahem...little grammar lesson... You used "worst" wrong. "Worst" is superlative, which forbids anything like "than something" coming after it. For your little comparison you might want to use "worse" instead, because it's the comparative form of "bad".

Well its the same price of the 360 controller, actually cheaper if you count that you dont need the extra $20 charger that the 360 controller needs :p

The SixAxis charges directly from the USB connection.

Btw F-3582 english is my third language so gimmi a break k? :p But thnks for the info anyway :p

Yeah the playstation 3 price is way better than XBox if you need builtin wireless and HD player builtin.

Like i need wirless internet adapter for my Xbox 360 which will run me around 50-99 bucks. When you buy the Xbox 360 wireless controllers it will run you 50 + 15 or so for rechargable adapter. HD Dvd player for the Xbox 360 is gonna cost you around 200. Might aswell buy system with accessories builtin.

PS3 is better buy in terms of the price. Just don't go buy PS3 bundle packs on the first day.

Does the Memory Card Converter has a usb input interface? It would be great if it was usb so the chance to upload saves or download saves other people upload.

i think it looks to be the better buy in terms of asthetics too...with the power brick, the wireless and the hd-dvd add-on, the x360 is a toy.

i can already see emulation getting easier :)

on the subtle advances from the X360 version through physics and ai

...Speaking of taking advantage of the PS3's power, the team has been using the computational power of the system to enhance a large number of the standard features that the game is known for. For instance, the cloth physics of jerseys and shorts has been assigned to one SPU on the PS3 instead of multiple cores on the 360 so that it can move more realistically than ever without taking away processing power for the rest of the game. But you'll find that there's just as much realism off the court in the PS3 version than on the court. Instead of running cutscenes during timeout situations, the development team has created real time AI that governs the cheerleaders, mascots, floor cleaners and even the crowd. For example, during a game between Dallas and Miami at the American Airlines Arena, we noticed Burnie, the Heat mascot doing much more than simply dancing on the sideline; he would run under Dallas' basket and actively try to distract shooters at the free throw line, and he had new dance sequences during timeouts....
on the overall visual package:

Visually, the game has been taken up to a new level, particularly in how the game action is rendered. Not only have the in-game visuals been beefed up thanks to the power of the system, but according to Thomas, the way the PS3 renders pixels gives the game a richer appearance than the 360 version. It looks much more organic and lifelike, and if you thought you were watching a real game on the 360, just wait till you see it on the PS3.
and a peek at the motion controller being taken advantage of :

...we did get a demonstration of how Visual Concepts is planning to use the tilt controller in conjunction with the game. Specifically, players will be able to shoot free throws by tilting the controller back and then leaning it forward. While you can do it with minor movements, you can also hold and tilt the controller as if you were actually shooting with a basketball....

Too bad you won't see that much detail while playing. Only time you see that much detail on screen is when you see the replays. Or if you have huge screen like 60"s to see that much detail.

I noticed from the screenshot that they are finally getting better at hand detail of a character. Alot of times in videogames characters have misshaped hands.

Sony's stocks just went down 2.75% !! Because of low PSP sales and worry about the PS3 launch! The malfunctioning at TGS made a lot of people worried. There better not be any more problems for sony or they'll be in a whole lot of trouble.

Besides the battery recalls increase by the day.

Addons

My feeling is that too many 'addons' for a console might be a bad idea.

Just for the fact that if they want to take advantage of addons for games at some point, it will mean that the game would have extra requirements - besides that of the console itself.

A little like the pc needing better gf-cards and so on.

For me, the lack of needing to "upgrade" your console in any way,
have been one of the things i like about console-gaming.

And choosing to _not_ make use of the extra 'addon devices' for games,
makes it useless for the ones who concentrate on the consoles primary function - playing games.. :)

i think this post belongs more in the X360 thread or the Wii thread...

It's also about time they'll be putting some decent ears on those heads. And I agree with you that most of the eyecandy will be lost during gameplay anyway. However, I must say this looks really impressive.

I was mostly a response to the previous posts by INCA and D.D.
About how the ps3 seems more valuable, since it has some of the things that is now being made addons to the xbox360 - by 'default'

Maybee i should have clarified that a bit, but i still don't think my post is more out of place here than in those others threads

It was also meant as a view on the next-gen consoles in general,
PS3 being one of them (and a very interesting one aswell)

*a friendly hug* :)
