Nice place :thumb:OMG the Monolith has arrived!!!
lmao. Gotta love the internet and random photoshoppers.OMG the Monolith has arrived!!!
i think it looks to be the better buy in terms of asthetics too...with the power brick, the wireless and the hd-dvd add-on, the x360 is a toy.PS3 is better buy in terms of the price.
i can already see emulation getting easierDoes the Memory Card Converter has a usb input interface? It would be great if it was usb so the chance to upload saves or download saves other people upload.
on the overall visual package:...Speaking of taking advantage of the PS3's power, the team has been using the computational power of the system to enhance a large number of the standard features that the game is known for. For instance, the cloth physics of jerseys and shorts has been assigned to one SPU on the PS3 instead of multiple cores on the 360 so that it can move more realistically than ever without taking away processing power for the rest of the game. But you'll find that there's just as much realism off the court in the PS3 version than on the court. Instead of running cutscenes during timeout situations, the development team has created real time AI that governs the cheerleaders, mascots, floor cleaners and even the crowd. For example, during a game between Dallas and Miami at the American Airlines Arena, we noticed Burnie, the Heat mascot doing much more than simply dancing on the sideline; he would run under Dallas' basket and actively try to distract shooters at the free throw line, and he had new dance sequences during timeouts....
and a peek at the motion controller being taken advantage of :Visually, the game has been taken up to a new level, particularly in how the game action is rendered. Not only have the in-game visuals been beefed up thanks to the power of the system, but according to Thomas, the way the PS3 renders pixels gives the game a richer appearance than the 360 version. It looks much more organic and lifelike, and if you thought you were watching a real game on the 360, just wait till you see it on the PS3.
...we did get a demonstration of how Visual Concepts is planning to use the tilt controller in conjunction with the game. Specifically, players will be able to shoot free throws by tilting the controller back and then leaning it forward. While you can do it with minor movements, you can also hold and tilt the controller as if you were actually shooting with a basketball....
i think this post belongs more in the X360 thread or the Wii thread...My feeling is that too many 'addons' for a console might be a bad idea.
Just for the fact that if they want to take advantage of addons for games at some point, it will mean that the game would have extra requirements - besides that of the console itself.
A little like the pc needing better gf-cards and so on.
For me, the lack of needing to "upgrade" your console in any way,
have been one of the things i like about console-gaming.
And choosing to _not_ make use of the extra 'addon devices' for games,
makes it useless for the ones who concentrate on the consoles primary function - playing games..![]()
It's also about time they'll be putting some decent ears on those heads. And I agree with you that most of the eyecandy will be lost during gameplay anyway. However, I must say this looks really impressive.Too bad you won't see that much detail while playing. Only time you see that much detail on screen is when you see the replays. Or if you have huge screen like 60"s to see that much detail.
I noticed from the screenshot that they are finally getting better at hand detail of a character. Alot of times in videogames characters have misshaped hands.
I was mostly a response to the previous posts by INCA and D.D.i think this post belongs more in the X360 thread or the Wii thread...
