PS2 emu? Not possible for now. Maybe 2 years from now.;) And oh, go buy a PS2. It's going to be a loooooong wait.:)

The past has proved it, so...
yes, there WILL be pc ports...
you just have to be very patient.
..and no, not all games...but many WILL get ported.

xbox is the strongest system on the market rite now and produces the best graphics of the 3 consoles, but i got a ps2 for da games :) if xbox get sum good ones maybe ill get one but it not looking so good so far.. :O)

The xBox is basically a pish celeron based pc with a nvidia laptop GPU equivalent, and the ps2 isnt powerful enough to correctly utilise its full potential. Dreamcast is well dead even though its tile based rendering was nice, and now the only console for us left to leave our faith on is the GameCube..... Or just play the ports on our pc....

anyways,

I used to like the PS2, i was gonna buy one so i read up on it, and now realise out of its theoretical 66 million polygons a second ( theoretcial cos it was flat shaded same sized polygons that were drawn ) it can only utilise about 5million due to its 4MB VRAM...
Now i dont wanna buy one and dont wanna own one and dont wanna emulate one. Dreamcast is dead, itll only be worthwhile if a free PSX emulator comes out for it, xBox is basically a laptop computer. I want a gamecube. Pretty pretty gamecube.

I wanna buy soul reaver 2 for the PC too, anyone got any info on the min spec? and screenshots of it running on pc?

well, I think ps2 looks amazing, but the only 2 games that I really find interesting are MGS2 and Gran Turismo 3 (no, I didnt forget ffx, I'm just not that much of an rpg guy). Now, for those two games only I'm not going to buy a ps2, especially not considering the fact

1) that's only 2 games
2) it may not be gt3, but I can live with gt2 on my DC :)
3) that's only 2 games
4) MGS2 might eventually be ported to pc.
5) that's only 2 games
6) Various other reasons
7) that's only 2 games

The NV2A is hardly comparable to a mobile solution. But, it's potential can hardly be realized, since developer's are restricted from getting low-level, and are forced to used DirectX..

The PS2's potential is starting to be realized. It has it's limitations like other offerings, but it's surely not crap.

Only reason why I want the PS2 now is MGS2 SOL.... Other than that, no other game on the PS2 really catches my attention.. There are some that looks nice, but eh.. I can wait until the price comes down..

The xbox games look better than PS2.. Dead or Alive 3 graphics is unmatched in a 3d fighting game.. Project Gotham looks better than Gt3(no jaggies), less popup.. I don't know about gameplay, but Gt3 probably wins that one..

Gamecube has some nice looking games too.. Rogue Squadron is the only game at the moment which I think is great on it.. Luigis Mansion is too kiddy.. Even the ghosts look cute.. Graphics are great though..

I would get the PS2 right now, but like I said, only for MGS2 SOL..

The PS2 was too hyped, out of its supposed 66 million polys a second, down to like 20million, after transformation, rotation, lighting etc.... but the fact the the PS2 has 4 megs VRAM means it cant really handle that much geometrical data in its memory at one time, emaning most current games average about 5million polygons a second, just a little better than the DC....

Which one to buy? None of them! Wait until next christmas. By then the console war should have been settled and it should be obvious as to which is the better machine. Also the prices will have come down by then .
I'm holding out for the same reason. No reason to plunk $200+ for a system that only ends up being an expensive doorstop. Unless you really WANT an expensive doorstop, I guess...

The PS2 has too much software for both Japanese and American games to "fail." On the other hand, a certain other system is very suspect at the moment for exactly the opposite reason.

The PS2 is, however, suffering from the Dreamcast syndrome - because it got released as early as it did, it's now suffering from direct comparisons to the newest systems (only as far as hardware goes).

You all know what I think about how much importance the quality of the system's hardware applies so i have a tendency to agree with Ryos here.

In the end it's usually down to who is best at brainwashing. And who do you think that is ? $ony, M$ or NintÂŁndo?
