Next-Gen consoles visual impressions...

In my attempt to get away from studying, I visited a local EB store today... and here's a little of what I see:

PS2: decent graphics.... nothing spectacular, but I can't stand the aliasing

X-Box: it crashed

.... didn't get a good long look at it. Saw a few minutes of Halo and Nascar 2002..... nothing that has never been done on a PC before, IMO.

GameCube: saw Star Wars: RL.... I must say I'm impressed with the graphics... very nice; can't wait until Resident Evil remake is released

Heard from a friend about the RE remake and he says it looks soooo good.

If i ever buy a new console, the one i would buy is Gamecube...wait...may be ps2... wait.. I think Gamecube is better...wait...ps2 has ff10,devil may cry...wait Gamecude is better i think..wait....

My next console would certainly be a PS2....unless Konami ports the you-know-what game to a relatively cheaper console.

I'd buy a PS2 mainly because of FFXI, it will be really nice to play a FF game online on that console. But the cube is not totally discarded though (I love RE series too). The Xbox is not more atractive than a Athlon Xp/Geforce 3 ti500 to me.

FF XI will most likely be ported to other consoles and/or PC to get access to a wider range of customers. Considering Sony practically bought out Square, I'd suspect the latter option.

Yeah, I know that FFXI will be ported to other consoles (the PlayOnline strategy Square is following), but the PS2 has more apeal than that. (MGS2, GT3, ICO anyone?)

Hmmm, i might as well to include that in the list too

But, would you pay $1499 for the PS2 and $219 for the game? Because that's the situation it looks like here... Of course the prices are not US dollars, but it's if like they were...

Which one to buy? None of them! Wait until next christmas. By then the console war should have been settled and it should be obvious as to which is the better machine. Also the prices will have come down by then .
