I just got around to playing the demo last night. I would say that it sort of reminds me of a hybrid of Kingdom Hearts and Vagrant Story.

i think one part of the demo that made it easy was that the weakness of each monster was shown without using scan -____-

and their remaining HP too my roommate was pretty excited over that feature...

I think more accurately it told you what was 'effective', because when I used the regarded magic it was weak against it didn't do that much more than something it wasn't 'weak' against. Whereas in the FF's where you had to scan for it, the weakness was displayed through a much larger tangent.
