I found it utterly stupid how much risks the so called scientists took even though they were on the other side of the freaking galaxy without any chance of getting help. Not to mention most of those risks were taken after they found that it was truly done by aliens...which meant they were risking the discovery of the millennia. Truly marvelous.
The first major stupidity was when the group takes off their helmets inside the dome. Even if the air there was breathable, it still doesn't mean that there aren't any diseases or any other nasty things in it. They were underground damn it! In moist enviroment! Perfect hatching place for all kinds of airborne pores and whatnot... Even if the first moron doesn't die right after he takes his helmet off, it doesn't make it safe! But still the other "scientists" follow his example...
My answer: David confirmed that the air was safe. If a machine with better analytical capacities than you confirmed you the air was safe, wouldn't you be confident ?

The robot(David was it?) infects one of the group with that unknown "thing" which might get the whole group killed, which would make the trip meaningless and a huge waste of money. I do realise that he was acting on orders but it still seemed stupid considering he had no idea of it's effects... It could've ended infecting all of the crew and even possibly Weyland himself!
My Answer: David has received orders from Weyland: " Try harder ". The security of the crew was overridden by this order. Weyland wanted to cure his upcoming death. Do you really think he would care about a possible general infection in this state of mind ? Especially if this infection could be the carrier of a possible cure for his " disease " ? Plus, the money given for the mission was for this only purpose, if you didn't noticed...
David, moreover, could read the " engineers " language. There is a great chance he already knew the black substance effect, so he knew its spread vector ( here, surely not so infectious, don't you think ? ). Remember, at Weyland death ? Weyland : " There is nothing here " - David " I know [...] ".

The captain leaves the bridge to get laid... Seriously? They have two men trapped inside an alien structure, with possibly living aliens in there but he goes to get some ass? ...Wow.
My answer: Milburn and Fifield are great boys. And their order was to stay safe until the storm passes. The captain wasn't their baby sitter. And I guess some ass after two years of abstinence, knowing there was great risks of no return for this travel ( Why do you think Vickers first question to David when she awakened was: " Any casualties ? " ) could be somewhat...pleasant.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The guy within the dome, playing around the alien snake... You seriously deserved that tentacle rape you moron.
My answer: Milburn was a biologist. When you discover something new, unknown and which seems harmless concerning your work, you become very excited. That was his case. Heh, he finished " tentacle raped " as you said. Risks of the job. He could have really finished with a cool pet too.

They notice one of the crew having serious infection and they try to bring him back?oO Even after he literally starts to melt? Seriously? You're on the other side of the galaxy, if you get that infection to your ship, you're all dead! I think that "leader" chick was correct with her flametrhower there. Actually, I liked her as the wisest one of them all...although she gets squashed like a bug because she doesn't realise she could've moved to the side! That death was the most dumbest of them BTW, it's almost like:
"Hey we still need to kill her, but we don't have time!"
"Meh, after she does a meaningless escape from the ship before it explodes, then we can have her get squashed the alien ship..."
My answer : Yeah, you will let someone die so easily when you see him having issues like the ones Holloway had. Holloway: " I'm ill guys ! "- A member of the crew: " Let him die, we are on the other side of the galaxy, if we get that infection to our ship, we are all dead ( even if I don't know what infection it is, huh !) ! " . Seriously ? More, they had a " quarantine " process which could have surely worked and was surely very efficient ( Remember the scene with the alien head exploding ? ).
About Vickers death: Damn it, in her case, you could have calculated precisely how the ship would fall ? The only order in her head at this moment was " Run, baby, run ". You don't have the time to think cleverly in this kind of situation. You just run, that's all.

The "main character" performing a surgery on herself by herself with a machine that doesn't even have the right functions for it... Why not just take a rusty knife, dip it in the toilet and cut your stomach with that?
My answer: You are too picky there. She managed to make the machine work the way she wanted. She has chosen an abdominal operation with the remove of an strange corpse, What do you want to be added ?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
And why did the alien guy attack the woman in the escape pod? How did he even know she was there? He should've just gone to the other ships and leave her there... Damn, I'm even critisizing the aliens here!
My answer: The escape pod was the only place where she could have belong. Moreover, maybe he didn't knew someone was there. He was just trying to check if there wasn't something dangerous in the pod which could make a second derelict crash. He had underestimated the human power one time; he wouldn't make this error a second time. Shaw was a possible danger then. Getting rid of any possible danger was the best solution.
