Hi guys,

I've been out of the emulation world a while, but desided to have a go at Gran Turismo 2 agan. :)

The game plays fine, I'm using Pete's openGL driver, and it is looking mighty nice, but I have 1 problem.

When I save the game, it says it is saved ok, but when I exit epsxe and fire it up again, and try to load the savegame, it says: Error, no file present or something like that.

I see the 2 memcard files, but it will not load any of em.

Do any of you guys know how this can be??

My rig consists of the following:

Abit KG7
XP1900+
512Mb PC2100
GF4 Ti4200
30Gb ata66 7200rpm
MX300 soundcard

Nothing in my rig is overclocked, so that can't be the problem.

Thanks for any info

Pim

...are you using savestates ? ...try not to mix savestates with memcard saves (play your game just using memcards). There were also some issues with memcard saves in the european version of GT2 & ePSXe 1.5.2 ,so if you have the european version, try an older version of ePSXe. (I have the euro version and indeed there were issues, but I haven't played GT2 for a long time, so I dont know if, or how, they were resolved).
As a last resort you may check if your memcard files are set as "read only"...

...good luck :)

Thanks for the reply.

I indeed have the european GT2.

I'll check the stuff ya told me, and let ya know if it works.

I can just d/l an older version of epsxe here, right?? 1..5.0 should be okay??

Thanks again

Pim

Btw, how can I check if I'm using savestates?? I'm not aware of that I am, but is it being used by default??

Thanks Sights,

ya saved my life. :D

I was finding it very strange that it could be the version of epsxe, cause I had used it before without any problems, so I checked whether the savegame files were read only, and indeed they were.

So, I changed that, fired up GT2, did 1 license round and saved it. Then I quit, and restarted, and what do I see?! Autoloading saved game.

Thanks man, tho I feel so stupid for not figuring this out myself. :eyes:
