i'm voting for bleem!
because it just gives me less problems...

about ePSXe, I think it's very good; plays a lot of games, nice graphics. But then, for most games, something's always not right. Obviously many people have sound problems (it's rarely perfect for me). Many have MDEC playing problems. Or maybe some display problem, like "the menu is missing" or something. I can list a few more, but you get the idea.

They might be small things, but it just takes away that much in the whole gaming experience. Sometimes you play a new game and you wonder what you missed, or how it'd be on a real PSX, if you only tried it on the ePSXe.

Coming back to bleem! Sure it hardly plays as many games. But when the game works, it works quite nicely. You won't have a lot of sound problems. The MDEC will always work. You won't expect any missing menu...

On a last note, the VGS would have gotten my vote (and probably a lot more votes) if it supported some kind of 3D acceleration.

Hi Lu_zero, did everyone on FPSE team get a chance to vote? I thought there were five of you guys...

ok who on the team voted epsxe? (Naught, Naught)

well, anyhoo, keep the votes comming :D
the team is composed by hmm 2 main coders(LDChen,SaPu), 1 senior coder(Bero),N betatesters(one of them is Karma),sadly few porters(Amidog,me,someone else?!)

anyway I voted, I'm sure that karma does... mrfog won't be here for a while and LDChen has something else to do...

I voted FPSE of course!!!! But i voted FPSE not because i'm in the FPSE team but because it's my preferred psx emu. Here my reasons:

ePSXe: doesn't work no my PC. DirectInput Error and pad doesn't work. And my preferred (ex: Parasite Eve 2 ) games don't work on it.

the BEST and MOST compatible emulator: works perfectly on my old and slow PC. It runs my preferred games.

Bleem!: It's outdated. Doesn't work well on my PC.

AdriPSX: Very cool but doesn't run my preferred games.

PsEmuPRO: It's VERY outdated.

VGS: Very cool but it has few choices of configuration and GPU is only software.

In this poll i see that PCSX is not mentioned... why?

Running DX7a or 8a?

Any other release of 7.x or 8.x will result in dinput errors with a bunch of applications, but it varies...it's not ePSXe's fault, MS ****ed DInput a whole lot :/

ePSXe: mainly because of ePSXeCutor! less time configuring - more time playing :)

Why the rest didn't get the vote..
Bleem: Well I'm running XP so bleem just says no!
VGS: same as bleem!
AdriPSX: Not bad, doesn't run that many of my games tho, still a good alternative tho! Still awaiting AdriExecutor :)
PSEmu Pro: Still damn good, the games that run - run well, still use it every now and again :)
FPSE: too hyped, doesn't have a good equivalent to ePSXeCutor, maybe you should ask Pete ;) Can't seem to use my PSJoy Adaptor with it :( XA Gets piled onto the SPU, only 1 SPU to use in that case..... Iori's :)

Wow, I'm surprised that no one likes VGS.
I guess software rendering is a big drawback :(
but at least its very simple.

though it's nice to see PsemuPro recieve a few votes :) can't keep an old dog down.

liquid,

I like VGS. It just lost a point for not having 3D acceleration and more controller support. Came in close 2nd to bleem, IMO.

VGS has best sound without question. And good speed too, for all the rest of us not yet in the GHz land. Not to mention little details that all other emus are missing.

btw, the graphics quality issue is practically non-existent when I use TV output, altho I don't do that very much.

I used to be in Mhz land soo I know the feeling
VGS is amasingly fast with its software renderer on my old pII266. I can say that MGS was very playable (though choppy at points).

However, with a voodoo2 & lewpys gilde driver it played smoother under ePSXe, and that was back with version 1.0.1!
Amazing results if you know how to match & tweak hardware right without Over Clocking.

;)

though on the other end of the specturm my PCI TNT1 always ran like crap on that system. Thank god those days are gone.

IMO, VGS compatibility was the best among all, but since it's commercial product (such as BLEEM), it must be at certain level of compatibility and quality because it's wrapped in beautiful package and sells in shops.

And I don't think putting PSEMUPRO here was a good idea, since it's development stopped a long time. Hard to compare to the emulators such as ePSXe and AdriPSX ..... they're still in development.

But it's definitely the first emulator that can play commerical games and it bring the good idea of Plugin system.

PSEMUPRO was the first milestone in the PS emulation history!

ePSXe without a doubt. For me its the most compatible which means its the best.
I don't like Bleem because no matter how easy an emu is to config, if it doesn't play the game it isn't worth ****.

I never tried VGS, and no enhanced 3D will ensure that I never will.

AdriPSX just doesn't play my games.

PCSX is the same result as AdriPSX.

FPSE is fine, but being able to play 2 games that ePSXe can't currently play (I wonder how long that will last) is not a good reason to inflate your ego. I wonder if FPSE can really play all the games that ePSXe can.

FPSE, if well configured should play about all the games ePSXe does but without spiffy features like save state or netplay (ATM...), not is up to you if you want options and additional features or just the emulation...
But since we found out some flaws in GTE recently maybe I'm wrong ^^

Well I don't have a fast connection for netplay.
But I think that ePSXe's savestate feature increases it's compatability. I think there are a few games(can't think of the titles) that just don't want to save in ePSXe with memcards. Now I don't know if FPSE has the same problem or not, but at least in ePSXe the savestates let those games save. You're probably thinking that just a few games don't matter so much, but it seems that's what FPSE bases their popularity on.
Now what's a flawed GTE?

FPSE has not memcard problem =P and don't need such workaround =P =P =P (still savestate are quite useful, but I prefer not consider them a workaround)

simple: FPSE0.09 has not a MMX gte because wasn't reliable, the actual one is discovered to hav flaws.

so Geometry Transformation Engine bugs aside, how is the MDEC engine progressing? Also do you plan to create a ePSXe or ArdiPSX like menu system? because the current configuration system has some problems.
anyways it's just a suggestion.
