I seem to have a chroni inabiity to load FFX. Or any game for that matter. I keep being told that there was an error opening the GS plugin. I rather think it's because my graphics card doesn't support pixel shading - is the only solution to get a beter graphics card?

Also, since I first opened PCSX2, and told it it could access my physical memory like it wanted, my mouse has become largely unresponsive. I only got to these forums by many many reboots and switching to a non-wireless mouse. Any ideas what's going on there? I want my mouse functionality back!

Yes you need a pixel shader 2.0 capable card.

If your computer doesn't have an integrated or independent gpu(graphics card) that supports even pixel shading 1.0 like you said, its so old and weak you'll never be able to play pcsx2 no matter how powerful a gpu it gets.

Sorry... I think that even the lastest & most power full cards that didn't support pixel shading 1.0 were the ancient geforce4 MX and geforce 2 series cards, so you must be running on a pIII or <1 ghz athlon.

Please list every computer stat you have (eg cpu, gpu, mem,mobo...) including your OS preferably in your signature.

I've sig-listed all the stats I know how to find. Afraid I'm fairly clueless when it comes to hardware - any more stats you need, let me know where to look for them and I'll grab them.

EDIT: Interesting, doesn't seem to be showing them in my sig. Here they are:
Intel Pentium 4 @ 2.8Ghz. 1 GB RAM.
Intel 82865G Graphics controller.
1x40GB HDD
Windows XP Pro SP2

Okay with a new graphics card you'll be able to play psx2 games although all 3d games will be somewhat slow or choppy(with frameskip enabled). 2d and pseudo 2d ages will run fine like streetfighter or disegiea(what ever its called :p)

You'll also need a faster cpu like a fast core 2 duo to play 3d ps2 games at tolerable speeds. (or one of the cheaper core2 cpus then overclock the heck out of it). You might need a new motherboard for a core2.

you pressed the "accept" button too hard maybe? Oo

there shouldnt be any relation with mem allocation and mouse really...
