It's running slow because no$gba does not have dual-core support. So it's running it as a single core 1.6Ghz processor which is not that strong.

The author is already making a wonderful job optimizing the emulator. And optimization has a limit, so if in the future there is more powerful console from nintendo or sony, your P4 1,7 won't problably make it fast even a emulator its fully optimised Shadow. and BTW you should update to service pack 2, as service pack 1 is already unsupported and has lot of vulnerabilities not to say also that you are not getting any security update.

I will tell you something. On my PC :
Athlon 2200 XP+
1 GB Ram
Radeon 9600 pro 128mb

games working...nice. Many titles working on full speed, but if game has some more 3d graphic than, it is working abou 90 - 50 %. You have to wait until emu will be more optimised or buy new PC, that's all...

I playing many games without even fill some lag .
All naruto games at no$gba works great even games with 3d .
And Crash Of The Titans works without any problems .
DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2, 1900 MHz (9.5 x 200) 3600+
Biostar NF550 AM2 / TForce 550 (SE) / TForce 570 U (Deluxe)
NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT (256 MB)
1024 MB (DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM)
Windows XP Pro SP2
I'm playing PCSX2 games like Naruto Narutimate Accel 2 with 150 fps at the menu and 30 fps ingame .
Emulation on NDS or PS2 , whatever emulations is can be better but for now best way to play some games is to buy the console .

couldn't have said it better :) :thumb:

If the application does not have dual-core support then only one core will be used so even if you have a Quad-core processor if the Ghz for it is too low then no$gba will still run slowly. The Ghz is per core and if an application does not have multi-core support then it will run off only the first core. So a 2Ghz Quad-Core will only run no$gba about as well as a 3.2Ghz Single core (taking into account the background tasks are running off the other cores and the increased efficiency due to the newer technology used).
i dunno this program uses both of my cores :eyemove: dunno if maybe you guys were referring to an old version, but man this thing uses some power... i have c2d @ 3ghz and it uses 60-90% cpu time. And utilizes both cores

My questions is does this program limit fps? It seems that zelda may run to fast?

No, there is no dual-core support...as I had already explained....

Homeworld ( a PC game ) for instance says it's running on 100% CPU power of the PC (on my friend's 2.8Ghz Dual-core)..., but it's not...it can't even read the second core...if he sets affinity to the first core than use drops to 50% (the program always tries to make an allowance for itself to use all CPU power available...but it can't tell that the second core exists...it's bascially an erroneous display by the taskmanager.)

It's impossible for it to use both cores...it does not know yet that there is such a thing as a second core.

I agree but many users of emulators are PC gamers, they'd never buy a console/portable nor console/portable games. For free (and sometimes illegally) they can however play medium aged console games in addition to their PC games.

In the end, some emulators will be forever behind consoles, so if you want to play the latest and greatest console/portable games, buy the console! Buy the console/portable, you say ? Many users will never buy them anyway. Don't tell them to buy a console/portable. They will not listen to you. You know that, right ? :)

tell that to task manager that has the usage on both cores... maybe it doesnt have dual core optimizations but it is using both cores according to vista. i have had programs that did only use one core though and on the task manager it showed that.

Will it run past 100% game speed or does it limit it?

try setting affinity to one core...

Well I have no clue...maybe an option in the taskmanager? (notice I am still on a single-core) besides that had nothing to do with slowing the game down...it was meant to show you the real CPU usage of the emu.

As for speed, all I can think of is messing around with the emulation speed options in the emu options.

hmm i tried that but changing it to realtime/10 still doenst change tthe speed. http://img210.imageshack.us/my.php?...dualcorexk2.jpg][IMG]http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/5694/dualcorexk2.th.jpg
