Sounds problems with Odin Sphere

I'm having trouble getting sound to work in Odin Sphere (the Multi-5/EU version): the music pops or is slow, and sometimes the sound effects are delayed by about a second. I haven't gone any farther than the intro and menu.

I'm running PCSX2 0.9.4 (the TLB version) on an Athlon 64 X2 4200+ with 2 gigs of ram, an Nvidia 8600 GTS, and onboard Realtek sound. Graphics plugin is set to ZeroGS KOSMOS 0.97.0 with bilinear filtering and AA turned off for performance. Here are the settings I've tried and the results I've obtained. Incidentally, the CPU cores weren't maxed out completely (except while loading), so I don't think it was a lack of sheer processing power.

Code:
ZeroSPU 0.4.4
time scaling - effects glitchy, music not at all smooth (sampling issue?)
real time mode - music smooth for ~2 seconds, then pops/catches up
neither - same as time scaling but music has pops
both - same as time scaling
P.E.Op S. SPU2 1.9.0
music pops constantly and is slow
	interpolation has no impact
GiGaHeRz SPU2 Driver (Alpha R) 0.13.0
FMOD - music mostly perfect, effects delayed
waveout - sound choppy and pops
	interpolation has no impact

Also mind that whenever your game doesn't run fullspeed (50fps), audio will have problems.
:headdesk: I forgot to enable the frame limiter. I knew I was missing something obvious... Thanks!

Well, now the problem is that I can't quite wring enough FPS out of PCSX2 to make a fairly consistent 50. If I could get about 5 more I'd only rarely see a noticeable drop, but I've already turned off everything I can think to. I'm still using ZeroGS as GSdx gave me significantly worse performance. One thing I'm noticing, though, is that turning on interlacing doesn't actually seem to interlace, and neither do I get a performance boost out of it.
