damn. you people write too much. keep it breif! lol

I'll have you know that I did not waste my money on my Celeron and I like it. I like AMD too and I don't know why Dahuman has a problem with it. And I don't know why you have a problem with Intel. They both make great processors.

I have a problem with an Intel fanboy, who refuses to see the merits of AMD. I know that Intel make processors that are able to deal with heat better.
I do not accept that the boards for AMD are expensive, and unreliable, as I know damn well they are not. I worked in an Internet cafe, as I mentioned before. We sold more AMDs than Intels, and we still had more complaints about Intel setups.

Although I personally gear towards the Intel side I think Dahuman is making too big a deal of the Athlon's heat issue. With a good heatsink and fan the Athlons shouldn't have any problems at all, and I've personally never had my heatsink fall off or my fan fail on me. His remarks about the instability of AMD boards is also unfounded. My guess is that he's had some bad experiences with AMD systems so he automatically assumes all AMD-based PCs to be bad. It's true that Intel products are generally of higher quality (they do a LOT more testing and QA on their products than AMD) but that's no reason to blast AMD. If configured properly an AMD system is just as good, if not better than an Intel system.

In your case the celeron wasn't waste of money becuase you didn't have to buy a new mobo and if went with an amd you would have. But overall intel are more expensive, just as stable as amd's chips, and they are slower.

What's interesting is that at my computer store Celeron 950 was $130 and Duron 950 was $125. Just the mobo's are a bit expensive. I have quite a few things to buy before I buy a new mobo. CD-ROM, RAM, Vid Card, Hard Disk.

IIRC a Duron 900 will shape up against a 1Ghz celeron quite happily.

I'm not saying it's not. I'm just saying that comparing clock for clock won't give you an accurate picture.

Lord Kane is right. And 1.2 might be enough for you, but you can not compare clock speed between athlons and celerons and P4's. Becuase the athlon will be faster than the intel. If not faster than the next speed up.

I'n just saying compare like price, then compare the benchmarks. That's it.
