I have a very good PC just to throw that out there to avoid that question. So im trying to record a snes game and Ive been having issues with fraps. Like every once and a while my pc will start to sound like its working very hard and my snes game will drop to 30-45 fps or so for a few seconds and then go back to running perfectly and recording perfectly. Its annoying and shows up in the playback so are there any solutions?

Using the built-in AVI recorder will let you capture without the frames dropping. While recording, there won't be any sound, BUT, when you play it back, it will play with audio and at full speed. FRAPS will kill performance in most emulators. The resolution will be native Snes resolution after recording.

Fraps is meant for video game recording so thats ridiculous. Anyways, i did try the avi record feature, i tried it once, but its was very laggy in the emulator and the lag showed in the playback.

Then there's something really wrong on your end, as there shouldn't be lag when using the AVI recorder. It works perfectly fine on my end, FRAPS kills performance on Snes9x, you can't avoid it but neither can I. What are your specs (CPU, etc)?

The nature of computers doesn't work that way, internal recorders are less resource-hungry than external recorders, the fact you're having issues with internal recorders indicates there is a serious issue on your end. I bet you anything that most people on this site can attest to that what I'm saying is truth. I have enough evidence on hand to prove that my claim is true.

Edit: Here's a video I recorded from Snes9x's recorder http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMycA_AAPrs

Works just fine over here. Are you even using the 1.53/1.54 test builds? http://www.s9x-w32.de/dl/testbuilds/
