I can't find a problem specifically like this anywhere else, so I decided to make a thread here.

I had been emulating Saga Frontier on epsxe 1.7.0 and it was working okay (except for the music, it was going to fast, but it seemed that I fixed it somehow). So I saved to play another day, and when that day came, I went to the "Load Game" menu, and my save game is on the second memory card, so I could tell off the bat that I could use the d-pad and shoulder buttons. However nothing happens when I press any other button like the start, select, or face buttons. I tried switching the analog on and off, and that didn't work. Am I going to have to start a new game and try save stating instead?

Have you tried remapping your keys again?

Yeah, just tried that. I can use the face buttons to get to the loading screen, and it looks like I can start a new game too, but for some reason they aren't working on the load game menu. I believe I also came across this problem when I tried Grandia, I had gone to the pause menu or whatever you call it, and I couldn't use the face buttons there, either.

Update: After I try starting a new game, pressing the face buttons also don't work at the little questionnaire it gives you. So so far:

-buttons work for the title screen, I can choose to load a game or I can start a new game and choose a character, but after that I can't use the face buttons
-I can use the d-pad and the shoulder buttons, but the rest do nothing.

EDIT: I just mapped the circle button to my keyboard and it works for that. But why can't I use my controller in specific menus? I'd also like to mention that I had been able to use the controller to start a new game without a problem before. I'm going to try my PS3 controller.

EDIT 2: PS3 controller works, I had been using a Logitech precision controller before, I don't understand, though.
