EMUfan, most likely your card has pixel shaders unless your PC is like 10+ years old or something..

anyways, if you don't see pixel shader's in GSdx's drop down menu, its not that you don't have them. its that you don't have pixel shaders 2.0 or higher.
you might have ps 1.4 which isn't supported anymore...

and if thats the case, like said above, you can't run the emulator....
(unless you look for an old version of GSdx9 that supports ps1.4)

No way dude. even with my low specs in my reg still detect pixel shader 3.0, I guess the driver of his VGA card isn't configured correctly which result Plugin recognize it as an older card, thus he cannot switch PS2.0 , PS3.0 or PS4.0

Well I'm using Gsdx 0.1.7 DX10 and the pixel shader box is greyed out, and I know my card (8800 GTS) supports PS 2.0+.

Maybe that's what he means.
can you post a pic?

GSdx detect's my 8800 GTS's Pixel shades 2.0 and 3.0.

like said above, maybe you also don't have the latest drivers.

but afaik, if your card dosn't support PS 2.0 or PS 3.0, it won't "grey out" the box, it would just show a blank box with nothing to select from.
perhaps you're thinking of texture filtering checkbox, which can turn grey?

nah i was talking to diablo, cuz he says his PS box is greyed out as well.

but lol, emufan is banned b4 we finish helping him out :p

When you select DX10 mode, it greys your Pixel select box out cause DX10 = 4.0 shaders only(soon to be 4.1, though, I guess) so you cannot change them, it's normal.

oh i didn't know that.
that makes sense :p

As for now, I have only one thing so say to you CottonVibes :
Thanks for this thread !
As I said in the "General thanks" thread, you made my first CPSX2 try a victorious one :)

For the moment my game works fine, but not better that on my PS2. But I really eager to play all my FF games only on my computer (FF7/8/9 done with outstanding perfomances, nearly done with FFX, woowoo !)

I'll do my best with software improvment first, as I only tried the emulator for a few minutes and on 2 games; but if it's still not enouth, i'll follow your advice and start finding infos regarding OC my proc.

Thanks :)

Didn't read the middle of this thread, but after using this guide I noticed you can get rid of the tiny jaggies by setting the internal resolution higher then your screen resolution. I tried to go crazy with it but that seemed to cause some instability (would love to try it in DX10 since someone told me that was a bit more stable but no Vista).

Higher resolutions require a more powerful Graphics card, I can go to 1920 x 1200 in some games, but only 1600 x 1200 in other games before noticing a slow down. It causes instability only in games that can't render at higher resolutions correctly, it might not be fixable.
