I've recently become addicted to RSS feeds. The fact is that they save an enormous amount of time, as I can browse the news quicly and read the ones that interest me. I'm using Feedreader , which is a great program IMO.

I already have lots of feeds on my list, though I wouldn't mind adding more :D
Check out the attached screenshot ;)

Anyway, I wanted to know whether anyone else here makes frequent use of RSS feeds (I'm a daily user :p ), and what are their opinions about it. And if you know any cool feed and want to share the address with us, feel free to do so ;)

PS: I also attached my feeds file (for Feedreader)... just in case ;)

"The Onion?" Besides everything, are you also a cook? Wow. :p (j/k)
Hey, everybody knows that The Onion is America's finest new source:

INDIANAPOLIS, IN—The recent murders of six serial killers has shaken the serial-killer community to its core, ushering in a new era of fear, suspicion, and mistrust, homicidal maniacs reported Monday.
You should get all your news from there :p :joke:

I know nothing about RSS as I've never taken interest in RSS feeds, but it seems it might come in handy for a user..

I see the news headlines are displayed in that RSS feed viewer, but how does it work beyond that? Does it open the relevant webpage to the headline you've clicked, or is the news displayed in a way different from the relevant webpage?

I used to use news feeds with samurize, though I wanted it to monitor so much it used alot of resources so I stopped using it. I like the tech sites like winbeta, neowin, warp2search etc.

Well, as I've said, they can save a lot of time if you check many websites. I wasn't interested in them until about a three weeks ago. Now I'm addicted :)

Now let me answer your question. So far I've only used a single program, Feedreader, so I'm answering regarding to it. The way your visualize the news depends on the website. Let me illustrate it.

On Ngemu.com RSS feed you can only see the headlines. To read the entire post you've to click on the "Read More" button, which appears at that box on the bottom right corner of the screen (it works as a built-in browser). Then it will open Ngemu's webpage on this same box, with the post in question. The same happens to Zophar's feed and many others.
For some other sites, a brief description of the news piece will appear above the "Read More" button. It's the case for BetterHumans.com and the NYT.
And for blogs' RSS feeds it usually displays the whole post, making it easier to read.

You can also right-click the read more button and open it in your default browser.
