Xenogears is essential. Vargrant story is rockin, and hven't played Dragon Quest

 

If you prefer graphic to story than you can eliminate DQ VII.

Na.. if you like graphic and story you can try Xenogears (perfect with ePSXe, except that I have some problem, check my thread ^^)

Vagrant Story is also good. But it is more action oriented. I can't stand this game. Actually it it good but I don't think the gameplay suits me.

definetly go for Xenogears. i played that game 2 times through in a row.

 

I'd go with that, exept that I really got into Vagrant Story, so it worked

 

xenogears is good...... but havent finish it yet..... if you can choose Tales of destiny 2 go for it one of my personal favorite at least for me

 

get Xenogears, it's rocks!

I've played the Snes translation of Tales of Phantasia though, is it like that?

 

all the "Tales of" games are similar, especially in battle. Its just that the newer ones will have better graphics (obviously). they did increase the number of characters you get to have in your party in ToD compared to ToP.

 

Xenogears the best option of the 3 ! Dragon Quest ain't bad , didn't like the graphics , and vagarant Story is more Action !

 

I might see if my Godfather can pick up a copy of ToD for me when he comes accross from the US in a few months

Hello everyone.
If according to that three options, I would gladly promote Xenogears. Great game, creative battle system, good graphic, good storyline, a masterpiece indeed. But if you have other options, then I propose Valkyrie Profile, if you haven't owned it yet. It also a good game.

there are way too many good rpgs and not enough time to play them through many times!

Dragon Quest/Warrior VII. I am currently palying and I find it to be great. The whole world is 3D, only the characters are 2D. I'll be posting some more screens as soon as I get some more time.

I would grab all 3 if I can. ... actually I did.

If you have to choose:
Xenogear is the overall best. good graphic, good story, nice all around.
Dragon Warrior VII has better story, but the graphics is less encouraging.

I would put Vagrant story last. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, but it's not much of a RPG. So if RPG is what you are looking for, it's definitely not it.
