Well it wouldn't take much to have every Nintendo NES, SNES, N64, GC game they published run on their newer systems and to have a library like Steam for accessing them.

There are several games they published and had on the Wii I purchased that if were available in a library format on the Switch might make me think twice about getting one. Sony did it with the Vita/PSP, Microsoft is doing it with their hardware.

Its understandable Wii/Wii U games might not work, but practically every other console pre Wii can be played via emulation on the PC, so why not on the Switch, and why should we buy the same games over and over again.

If people buy digital music, which is a license like software, nobody tells them they can't play that music on their tablet, smart phone, IPod, Computer. Imagine if Steam was limited to one computer, and that's how Nintendo behaves...

Seriously, if I could just get my digital games on my Wii for the Switch, even just the Nintendo published games, without having to buy them again, it would make it a decent option. But Nintendo is Nintendo, and that doesn't seem to be happening.

Nintendo is not doing that for the same reason Activision keeps their old games expensive... To keep gamers buying the latest stuff, instead of collecting and playing older titles on the cheap.

Why else would it have bound game purchases to machines instead of accounts? Each machine having its own separate online store keeps people (re)buying, whereas an account-based library doesn't.

A weird glitch with the Fallout 4 Texture DLC is that many/all NPCs had face textures issues. People have previously had this problem with the game, but for me it appeared with this DLC. I didn't realize it until I moved out of an encampment mostly made of robots and a few people with dirty faces anyway (didn't begin the game with the original intro). The issue is that everyone has a brown face, regardless of their original skin. And even for characters with brown skin, the brown face skin is of a different shade, making everyone looks weird.

As usual, someone offered a fix for a mistake made by Bethesda. Someone created a mod to try and help people, and it helped many users, but not me. With that said, someone commented saying that since the newest patch, if the game sees that you are using a plugin with the exact name of the Texture DLC (meaning, using the dlc), it forces higher specular maps on the faces. If you rename the texture dlc to something different, but keep it active, you will have the DLC without the game trying to screw around with the faces. I tried that, and no more face texture glitch. I don't know if his explanation is legit, but at least I don't have the glitch.

E3 must need the money

Tickets go on sale starting February 13th, with only 15,000 available for purchase; those who purchase their ticket earlier can acquire it at the discount price of $150, while those who wait will have to pay $250 – E3 2017 will take place in Los Angeles from June 13th to June 15th.

Well I didn't wind up buying a Wii U and I may not buy a Switch. Obviously 1 person doesn't mean squat to Nintendo, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't want to keep buying the same games on multiple systems.

At least Humble gave us DRM Free Neo Geo games in the Humble Neo Geo bundle and most of the games that appeared on Steam eventually were given Steam keys for free. That is why I haven't abandoned Humble or Steam, but I don't know about buying any Nintendo hardware down the line. Again, I'm 1 person, but not alone in feeling the way I do.

If I never purchased a game again, which isn't happening any time soon, I could play what I have for the rest of my life and still not get bored...

I wouldn't want to stop buying games, but if I had to...

I haven't purchased a portable since the Vita in 2014 and the XBOX 360 console in 2013. Maybe I won't buy any more consoles or portables.

I think i should save some money and visit E3.... may be a nice experience even if i don't like to be live on such shows. It may be worth it.

I heard a youtuber who has covered E3 for a few years now talk about those passes, said they weren't a good purchase in general. The big conferences, the ones everyone is interested in, are still invite-only, so buying a consumer pass doesn't mean you get to see them. Meeting some of the popular developers/artists of the game world could be cool, but everyone is so busy during E3 that it's incredibly unlikely it'll happen. They're all scheduled to meet each others for interviews and demonstrations.

Ultimately, E3 as a consumer likely just means visiting the floor and standing in line to try some of the games. It could still be cool in a way, being able to see how it works, what the event is like. But the coolest parts of E3 will likely remain reserved for the press. As he also said: every year we get articles asking "do we really still need E3?". He says that for gamers, not really. It still exists as a way for the press and developers to meet each others, have interviews, and discuss games. Gamers get to see all the content online, all the videos, gameplay, trailers. We won't benefit much from being there in person, as the event wasn't created for us.

It could still be a cool experience, especially if the trip to the city isn't limited to E3 but also exploring the city and what it has to offer. It's still Los Angeles. But we're gamers, better put that money into SLI Nvidia TITAN X Pascal.

I've been to the full E3 experience before with all the big conferences in 2005, the only I liked cuz of all those big announcements that year

There used to be free games for buying 'new' Nintendo games as they awarded points and once you had enough points you could redeem them for free digital games. Many gaames on my 3DS and a few on my Wii were procured that way, I still miss that system being removed.

I like it too, didn't create a nintendo account yet. what are the advantages?
you get 100 platinum coins when completing chapters which you can redeem for in game items and you also get 10 orbs for free

The shards and crystals help for quick leveling your characters. I started the game 2 days ago and I am near lv20

Valve is thinking about paid mods, or at least paid modders, once again.
Don't fix what isn't broken, you fuckers. Multiple mod websites already offer the ability to donate to modders. Modders can start Patreon profiles to get support.
We don't need publishers trying to take control of the modding community. Valve needs to be very careful or they'll get the same reaction they got last time.

If they want to get involved, they need to make sure that they ADD to the community without removing from it. This isn't what happened last time, and people were rightfully pissed.
We like the current system. I know there are ways they could make things better overall (adding a donation system in the workshop system on steam, maybe adding steam cards to the highest rated mods with modders getting a % of sales?) but I'm super skeptical after their first moronic attempt at paid mods.
