That's the part I disagree with. Sony and Microsoft are working with the exact same partners to make their consoles. On the hardware side, MS has no advantage. They literally work with the same companies and simply have a small variation of the same hardware. (Both PS4 and Xbone have AMD 7000 GPU for example, but the PS4 has a more powerful version)
On the software side, MS currently have an advantage, but Sony now has the entire lifespan of the PS Neo to offer the exact same service. With the PS4 and Neo have the same games, Sony simply has to focus on the next console doing the same. So, Sony already offers backward compatibility between the two consoles (and they said players would be able to play some of the older games in better quality on the Neo), now they just need to make it work long-time instead of stopping at the Neo. It's not exactly the apocalypse.

As for games being easy to develop for PC/Xbox... True, but PS4 is easy too. That's actually why both the Xbone and PS4 are built like PCs, so that third-party developers could easily port their games to PC, by building games on the same hardware. (Instead of the clusterfuck that was the PS3 hardware, making ports a headache)
It's true that Microsoft is making it go from Easy to Easier, but it's not such a strong point when developers already have access to this. The relationship between the PC and the PS4 has actually grown over the past 2-3 years, with even more games making their way to PC. And with Sony going all-in on VR, and VR being closely tied to PC, I expect the PS4/PC relationship to remain strong.

I don't disagree that Microsoft isn't doing better in those areas than Sony, I only disagree that Sony is being left behind/has no plan to do the same. We basically have MS giving a 10/10 performance in both cases and Sony giving a 8/10 performance, while Sony also has a 3-4 years window to catch up to Microsoft before those mistakes start showing (when the Xbox 3 / PS6 releases).
Saying that those moves will lead to the end of the competition in the console world is quiiiiiite a stretch. MS is positioning themselves to equal Sony if they keep their hand strong. They're not positioning themselves to eliminate them from the gaming universe.

The thing is there is not going to be Playstation VS Xbox anymore which is where what you are saying there makes a lot of sense. Think of this... the PS4 is quite a successful console and has delivered 40+ millions units. The XB1 i believe is sitting between 25-30 millions units. The advantage of the PS4 over the XB1 is quite there and partners look for that.

MS while doing a phenomenal job i believe is doing some shaddy stuff by dragging Sony into their ground. How? you may ask right? while the difference between the PS4 sales and the XB1 is quite big MS is melting their eco-system which includes PC, XB1 and the new mobile surface machines into the mix. Results? the amount of MS devices turn so huge that the 40+ millions PS4 sold look like a diminute point in space and that is what i believe is unfair here and can put Sony in danger, not right now but in the future.

What i mean about easy to develope is that by having all those devices MS have a standard quite stablished which judging by the amount of devices will be logical to use those as the base target for gaming. Sony's recent announcement of PS Now for PC is probably a sign of that and a good move by Sony as they can stay as a service and still be part of the big cake portion. Still, they are being dragged into MS territory where MS strenght is and is almost impossible to beat them so they will pretty much be at MS mercy sooner than later. It may not happen rapidly but slowly they will lose ground.

The biggest difference here is that Sony needs Playstation to pretty much survice. Sure they have other things but the PS brand is what's keeping them afloat. Unlike Sony MS don't really depend on the Xbox brand to survive not to mention they are doing quite well right now. What's really going to happen remain to be seen but i guess only the time will tell.

My opinion here is just based in my observations so let's see if i was right or wrong in the future

I hate pixel counters with passion so how can i turn into one myself? for enjoying 4K on a PC that can handle it? my point about resolution is that i don't sacrifice fps over resolution like pixel counters so i don't care about the resolution as long as i get a solid gameplay but if i can push it further and get higher resolution why not?

I guess I can understand where you're coming from. There are games that aren't graphic showcases I like, but I'm not offended when a game I like has great graphics.

Actually i just like to play games with solid framerate as possible regardless of the resolution and i will enjoy it. A good game stays a good game regardless of the resolution and everything above or equal to 720p looks great to me but people keep making it look like you are playing with PSX graphics or something which is ridiculous. However, if i have a device(which i do) that can push the framerate i want and higher resolution i will definitely go for it. The difference here is that we have graphics whores and pixel counters this days who mainly care about the amount of pixels on the screen or check if there is one more grass on the floor or stop on every corner to check if there is something pixelated and i hate those with passion.

Anyone here with a PS4 can login into Sony's utter crap servers? the f*cking service have been down all day long and i'm still waiting to redeem my keys WTF? even on their website i'm unable to login as i get the message that i have no permission to enter. Was any maintenance scheduled or something? WTF is this shit? today is the first time i turn on my dusty PS4 since quite some time and this is all i get? f*ck this shit seriously....

no problem here in the US, asia, japan servers. I Just used all 3 of those with redeem codes a few minutes ago

The website works for me currently, but I can see a few other people claiming it's down.
PSN has been the target of multiple DDOS this month. They've also been targeting Rockstar (GTA5) and Blizzard.
The group behind it said it was only a test and they would launch a bigger attack on PSN later. This could be it.

Call of Duty 2 got backwards compatible recently and it seems to run far better than on the original 360 almost getting locked 60fps in comparison to the 30fps the 360 gets during intense action. I'm not a fan of the serie but i guess there are many out there that will be interested to know.

I think it's about time for that gpu upgrade lol. Playing Doom w/ sli and I'm getting fps drops down to the low to high teens. Single gpu not any better. The mars UAC mission is the heaviest on my poor gpus. Still, managed to play the game until completion. I have to say the most fun I've had yet and loved it so much I put up with the abysmal performance. I tweaked medium settings. Pretty much zero difference between low and medium so long as I keep shadows, texture size and antialiasing on low and FXAA.

I really don't think there's much I can do to improve performance. Just that my hardware is showing it's age. :'(
