it's good that there's a workaround, but it sure is obvious Windows was PC first and "smart device" later. My HP Stream has a 32 GB drive and that's really sparse for Windows..... how do they want to enter the mobile market when the footprint is gigantic like that...

There is a way to fool programs to think your alternative drive is on the C: partition. To do this you just use the mklink from the command line.

mklink /D C:\NameOfTheFolderYouWant \NetworkLocation\LocationNameOrFolderDir

After you do that the folder you created will be on C: but will link you to the place you want while fooling apps to think is a local folder on the C: partition.

I'm not sure if it works but is sure worth a try. I did that to solve space problems here as well and it works great but i'm not sure about store apps.
Thanks for the help, but I had already started transferring space from one partition to another after writing my post. I just cleaned a ton of space and moved about 30gb to be safe.
I'll download the beta later, my ISP offers unlimited download from 2am to 2pm and the 23gb download is pretty beefy.

I'm liking Uncharted Golden Abyss on my Vita, even if I suck at the combat and find the game a bit hard with the gun fighting.

I'm also thinking before the PS3 are pulled from the Gamestop stores, I may consider getting a used one and a few games, like I did with the XBOX.

I'm liking some of the ported games on the Vita, and I no longer care the PS3 isn't backwards compatible with the PS2, which no longer seems to get played. I need to get my BIOS ripped from my PS2 while I still can so I can play the PS2 emulated on my PC when my PS2 is toast.

I was frustrated playing Uncharted, but wound up playing it the whole time I was doing my laundry tonight. I didn't even play the new fighting game I recently purchased for my Vita.

Cool, i'm downloading the PC version of the beta as well but the XB1 version didn't worked yesterday when i tried as it failed to log into the server. Also it seems like betas this days aren't allowed to be streamed this days.

I've no clue whatsoever what the Windows Store is doing. It has filled a 23.1gb bar three times now. It doesn't SAY what it's doing, it doesn't give any hint, you only see a bar filling up.
Is it re-downloading the game? Is it unpacking? Is it installing? Hell if I know.

I like competition, but what does the Microsoft store offer that's better than the competition?

How is it better than Steam, GOG, and Origin? I won't mention Uplay as almost anything is better than that! :p

I downloaded the game here without issues and unlike the XB1 version it works like a charm.

With all due respect, actually the store needs to GTFO :p. The idea of an MS store with some quality control and reviews ain't bad, but it needs to be redone from scratch... not continue on the failed Metro model.
Indeed, there new policies for us developers sucks incredibly. A while back they rejected the update of my @ruanTuber HD just because they require tons more things to be added which is nothing but crap and stupid stuff nobody need. The store sucks big time but i still have hope they will fix it one day.

Right now the thing that bothers me most is there tasteless UI design which is definitely done by "CORE" coders as it seems.... they are known to have absolutely no idea about design and simply suck big time at everything except proper coding.

One point of purchase (buy one, own/run everywhere), albeit incomplete so far (Universal apps are limited to Windows machines). It's not unque though.

On PC, Steam includes Steamplay compatibility across multiple OSes (Windows/Mac/Linux) under a similar concept.
And Android allows you to use your purchased apps on many devices across types (mobiles, tablets, Android-based machines).

I think you missed my point. MS games are Windows only, whereas Steam games have multiple OS support, why do we need another store?

What will using Windows store do better than any other store that exists?

Steam has software, again why would some want to use Windows store unless they have exclusives. How many stores do we need?

Nothing in particular.

Apps and games obtained on W10 can just use existing system ressources more safely, and the permission system for easier sharing (access to contact list), usage tracking and social interaction (achievements/Xbox live/voip), updates (no-pressure or mandatory)
But that's not really the store granting those benefits, just system features accessible by developpers.

Personally I think we do need a serious alternative to the app store like on Android, but Steam is extremely poor at everything that is not games, and unless you can log into Windows using your steam credentials, everyone not specifically already using Steam will loathe needing to log into 'another app store that's not even preinstalled'.

By the way, Pinball FX2 got a Windows 10 version. It has some important improvements over the previous one; it's now as nice as the Steam version (at least, that's my first impression).
Their support was really helpful in transferring the tables from the old version to the new one (it's not yet an automated process, but they are working on it). :)

Finally managed to upload a video of the upcoming Dashboard update for the XB1. It seems like is pretty close for release as we are getting updates almost daily in order to fix more stuff and to integrate more and more apps into the new layout. There are few apps and layers that need some work such as the game list, music app and others but overall the dashboard is very responsive. One of the new features of the update i got today is the background music which should be available on all layers and apps later when is ready but for now is limited to the main screen.

I needed a little to get used to the new layout but so far i like it more than the old one:
