to have a MX440 and P64 ran fine, I got hold of a Radeon 9000 Pro and now it wont run at all, I am sure that it is the gfx card. I know it could be the drivers and it may be plugins. I am hoping someone has a fairly simple solution to this problem. The error message I get with Jabo's Direct 3D6 1.5.1 is as follows .....

Direct 3D failed to initialize your HAL device make sure you have a properly configured 3D graphics card with Direct 3D 6.0.

Then......
The default or selected plugin is missing.
Check that you have atleast one compatible plugin in your plugin folder.

Then it asks me to configure the plugin. No matter what I do I cant get any game to run now with this card.
I can't help but feel that because I am running DX9.1 has something to do with it?
I really have no idea and am begging for some help on this one. I really dont wont to change drivers because my PC is really set up for a lot of other things.
I will say again that I have changed nothing except the gfx card.

Change your desktop to 16-bit color. Then when you load up the emulator, make sure to set the emulator to play the games in full screen in 16-bit as well.
Thx heaps Modem1, worked a treat. I knew there'd be a guru to save me again

I think I may complain to ATi about this...I don't feel like switching to 16-bit everytime I want to use Jabos plugin in 1964. It was working fine pre-catalyst 3.8, so what did ATi break?

Sucks alot. :(

Don't think there's a point. You think they'll fix it? It's emulation, they won't do a thing to help it. I doubt they broke it on purpose, so you never know, it may work again in the future. And if all else fails, just buy a nVidia card. :p
