I ran this program Asus PC Probe and it said that my CPU (which is running at 700 Mhz now) has a Max Speed of 1200Mhz. Is it safe if I would put it at that frequency (if I put in a more powerfull fan)?

I have an Asus CUV4X-C Motherboard and it has support for Celeron processors as well as Pentium 3 processor. On the Asus web site it says that it supports from 300Mhz to 1Ghz. When I feel I should upgrade, do you think its worth it to buy a bigger fan and overclock my Celeron to 1Ghz? or should I buy a P3 1Ghz chip and a bigger fan?

Get the P3 and a bigger HSF. :)

just buy a retail pentium3 and use the stock fan included with it. i use the stock fan included with my p3 to overclock it to 1.1ghz with no problem just add extra fan to suck the heat out from your case.

...but that will starve the HSF of air inside the case. Ideally, there must be slightly more air blowing in than the air blown out.

Hmmmm.......overclocking a celeron 700 to 1200 would be quite dangerous, you are overclocking it by almost 70%........wow....so U can say that your processor heat would be increased by 1.7.......it means your processor needs some extra cooling......and also some extra power from the powersupply..........!

Celerons run very very cool.........so I think you won't be needing any extra cooling........but in the worst case scenerio..you can damage both your mobo and processor,....over clock it by no more then 30% a friendly advise........!
