problems switching discs in Valkyrie Profile

hey guys i browsed through the forums but found no real solution to this problem.

i have a problem switching to disc 2 in Valkyrie Profile. i tried all that the other members have mentioned but the problem is still there.

i'm using Daemon Tools to mount mdf/mds disc images, and whatever CD-ROM plugin i'm using it just won't load and the screen is stuck at "Please insert disc 2". i've repeatedly mounted disc 2 (in mdf format) in Daemon Tools but it just doesn't seem to work. then i extracted an ISO image file from the mdf and used the Change Disc option of ePSXe but it doesn't work still.

and oh i do the described procedure--press Esc, Change Disc, then Reset. i go back to the last save i had in Disc 1, and when i mount Disc 2 the game recognizes the save as only in Disc 1 and prompts me to insert Disc 1.

any suggestions? i'm really desperate.

Try this
1. load game
2. wait for incert disc 2
3. press esc
4. change iso to Second disc
5. hit continue.
6. wait

if that dont work, the only other problem could be that the save file has been currupted, just my opinion aswell, some other member may be able to solve problem tho.

i tried the same but it just doesn't seem to work. i've even changed other CD-ROM plugins.

thanks for the tip, though. but i'm really at wit's end trying to figure out a way on making this work.

well, your games have to match up. try playing it off the CD. if the CDs came from the same set, then it should be ok. if you're playing off different CDs (which is often the case with the internet copies of multiple disc games, for some reason), then you'll have a problem.

this is one set that i bought from my friend, and i made ISOs from both discs 1 and 2 since i thought it was just from the CD which was why i couldn't load disc 2.

Have you tried using the CD? In some cases the ISO's doesnt match the CD because of read errors.

Same problem here. I get the black screen after the cd change, but after a while music starts running (screen remains black). If i press a button, i get an error "SPEC Opcode 28 UNK (PC 00040acc) (000040ab8) (11934,7)"

Usually when you reach a disc end, the game will be saved on the memory card. Next time you start up your emulator just boot up directly from the second disk, when you reach the game menu there must be a load option, and try starting from there.

I don't know, its not like lets say Final Fantasy when u get promted to save your game right before the disk changing... But the funnny thing is that when i try to load up my disc 1 save from the second CD, it asks me for the cd change. I change to the first disc and it work and thats what i dont get it... Why doesn't it work the other way around

nevermind, the damn CD was kaput. Found my old VP backups after 12 hours of searching and it worked with them.:thumb: 10x anyway :guitar:
