helping you with what i know

try moving the inis present into another folder ie;no inis should be present
in the ini folder this will reset all the settings of pcsx2.then try appliying dual core support
if problem persist try another version of pcsx2 and check for the support.
then reply me back your results

It should work auto, when your using PCSX2, go into Task Manager and see if both cores are displayed and shown on the usage charts. Also what GFX card does he has, its possible it could be bottlenecking you CPU.

i have a similar issue... i have a pentium dualcore. (yeah, i know... :p) i see no FPS difference, regardless of whether i have MTGS or DC enabled or not. any suggestions? i'm running vista, btw.

EDIT: after a bit more testing, it seems that unless i lock pcsx2.exe to one core, it will use both cores regardless of whether i use MTGS/DC or not. (the framerate drops a bit if i lock it to one core, but not by that much... maybe like 5 percentage points.) if i enable DC, it will push both cores to 100% usage, but i see no speed increase. what does DC do, exactly? :p or is pentium dualcore a fake dual core, or something?
