Hello all, plz excuse my poor english and consider i am totally noob @ emulation and PCSX2.

I downloaded PCSX2 and tried to run Soul Calibur III from Namco. After a few resolved Cd/dvd probleme, the game starts, Playstation logo appears, namco logo appears then, "play the game" appears and a strange little game seems to begin, like a very old game, space invaders on attari... strange sound... then, screen fade to black and nothing else.

After that, i have two questions. Does this strange game apear on the playstation 2 ? is it normal ? then, is there a solution the make the game continue ? I mean if the game starts and the logos are displayed, it should mean that it runs correctly no ? Or is it maybe a config problem ?

My computer :
Intel Core 2 Duo 2Ghz
2gb RAM
geforce 8800 gts@640mhz

Thank you in advance.

Namco games always have their older titles played during the loading scenes (Galaga, Pacman, etc) so don't worry about that; it's normal.

As for the rest, I've never tried SC3 on the emulator so I can't comment >_<

Reading this post clearly indicates piracy, no help.

Well, he only said he downloaded PCSX2 :-\

"Is it like this on the Playstation 2? That clearly says he's never played it on a PS2...

I mean, who buys a game just for the emulator and never tries it in the original console?

Me.. hehehe. I don't have my PS2 anymore (damned lens) so I've bought games purely for use on PCSX2, lol.

Yes, maybe in your case, but I seriously doubt it.(Even your story, no offense)

I'm just saying it doesn't take a genius to figure out that he pirated it, if he asks if something happens on the PS2.

Effectively i do not have any PS2, i just do not find any fightgame on computer so a friend gave me many of them like tekken 5, SC3 and Toshinden.

And there are original discs :thumb:

I'm amazed really...well probably not, but it seems people are just as stupid as ever. Despite the fact that I clearly said piracy means no help, he openly admits to not owning a PS2.

Oh dear. Well, looks like you were right ;)

Sorry bud, no help for piracy (whether the games are original or not, if you don't own a PS2 -- then it means you didn't dump your own BIOS)

Hem, guys, you are right, no piracy help here. BUT :
1st : He didn't asked something about warez or anything similar, so...
2nd : He justified the fact that he doesn't own a PS2, the disks are all original ( that's what he says, and, as we don't know if he's telling us the truth or not, shouldn't accuse him of downloading warez... ), so the problem doesn't really appear...

Actually, he didn't said something like " I downloaded SC3 " or " can you give me a link for some BIOS, plz ? " . THAT is public piracy, but since we don't know what he and all the users do, we should just help...
But that's my opinion, i'm not a MOD or nothing.

Ah, one more thing. I ALWAYS doubted that whoever owns a PS2 and is able to mod it will ever want to use an emulator. My PS2 slim's lenses are broken, but i still have all my original discs.

If my PS2 still worked, I'd be using it rather than struggling to get Alter Code F working on the emulator, lol. Besides, aside from the increased resolution and save states, I'd rather be playing the game on my 28" TV than my poor 19" monitor, heh.

Stupid Sony and their lousy build quality.

I've droped mine down stairs, on concrete, had water / soda spill on it, stepped on it, left it running for a week or two...and it still works and has not yet broken down. I got it in 2001.

Sony's build quality is excellent. Off topic though.

It doesn't matter - Rules are rules as others have said. The way an above user said it, it's ok to shoot someone, as long as you don't TELL anyone about it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

... oh, you were serious!?? Pfffft, pull the other one matey. The PS2 has a, well deserved, reputation as being one of the most hideously designed pieces of crap in the hardware world. It had more gremlins in it than any Joe Dante movie :p

So you got lucky and while I don't believe a word you just said (no offense :p :p :p) kudos for you! You got the world's only bomb-proof PS2. The rest of the world, however, had to deal with a myriad of technical issues on both the Fattie and the Slim .. not least of which is the laser housing, which warps and sends the lens out of alignment if you so much as WINK at it.
