Grrr. Why can't we have games like this? This is the kinda games I want here. It be nice if a small company ports alot of these games over under a liscense line.

I'd prefer these personally over games such as Doom III and HL-2. (Sorry, im just sick of FPS)

America congolomerate doesnt care about RPG on PCs lol look all the crap we get here and if you guys are interested in obtaining a copy let me know hope this isnt out of line here and believe me the games are wayyyy cheaper than you would expect them to be! :D

hmm... im not a big fan of anime-ish stuff but i kinda like how those games look, its only a shame for all us non chinese people that theyre in chinese ;) if they were english i could see myself playing through those games

offtopic: qing: just trying to remember some stuff.. we used to play talesweaver back when it was in beta right?

They look great, but I have noticed with all thoes Korean/Chinese/Japanese rpg's, it just seems there is so much writing, and it is so small that you could never know what is going on :p

#12 ·
I'd play through them if I could obtain a copy. (Was the one who spent 65 dollars for a copy of Magna Carta ) and I don't even speak a hint of korean or Chinese.

I played Tales Weaver also Strider. Just not with you, and I still do..

well the games are all protected with starforce 3 protection and believe me.. no one's cracked that yet lol So obtain a copy let me know I'll help you guys.

Strider: Yeah I still play Tales Weaver test server every now and then.

Qing, I want to leave a post at RpgFan, but it's not letting me. I am very shocked at the way they acted. If it was rpgamer. They probably would have thanked you. RPGfan has coverage of korean games and some that are not known at all.. like Depth Fantasia (go to picture section).

Theyre just mad they didnt find the games first.

Zer0Soul, yeah I know what you mean, they're mad cause I'm correcting them on something they didn't do lol Depth Fantasia is actually Japan I believe Enix is the maker of that game.

Strider: nah there is a test server and goto www.talesweaver.org thats a fan site.

You guys shoulda read one of their staff's reply lol this dude is getting pissed cause I brought up a good point lol And all his reply has been trying to attack me lol its soo funny

one side note..haha.
being a regular chinese rpg player myself...
chinese rpg's game play time is easily 2-3 times more then normal english rpgs.
and i really do mean easily..so if you'd actually get one. you better have the time to play it...cuz some of em are really really long. and the hints to the next stuff to advance the story line aint obvious either...even when ya know how to read chinese..
x.x

haha..happy playin xD

Qing: I have left my post on rpgfan. They have lost a viewer of there site now. They have me shocked and amazed at how a site that's suppose to be dedicated to Rpg's can be so biased and blind to them. It's become a site where majority or big budget games now rule. I'll be going elsewhere from now on.

Strider: I too have moved on to newer games. If you'd like to know more P'm me, maybe we can arrange a meeting in a few.

Everyone knows that Japan makes the best RPGs on console and PC, but how many really know about PC rpgs in china?
i wouldnt say that, theyve made some good games but lately i havent seen any really... i still think anachronox and fallout are the best pc rpgs neither of em made by japanese companies, i dont think japan controls the pc rpg market as much as they do console

I played all of them, but honestly didnt impress, maybe cause the graphics are monotenous(sorry if I spelled it wrong) they just dont seem to appeal to me and the story is creative but I cant look at the same type of walls for 50 hrs ya know, it drives me nuts. And yeah that statement is a little blunt lol But although if you think about it, whenever you mention RPG u automatically think japan lol PC rpg market I think Japan still has a large share, then USA, then the China (undiscovered until now XD)

But Rpgfan has definitly gone down hill, cause I saw a graph their bandwidth usage is not even half of what rpgamer's. Plus all those idiots that always "let me explain this term for you, because you dont see it my way!" lol

But anyways I'm glad I posted about these games that got people thinking. Rpgfan basically covers anything that has a big name logo on it and turns blind to rpgs that didn't make a world wide splash and its funny how their name is RPGFan lol

Yah, there is a reason why the big games are big, and these sites review them, they are just better in the grand scope of things. If these smaller games were really that good, don't you think the bigger companies would have picked em up already? You cannot honestly tell me that if you found that game, that the big companies have no clue about it. It's called R&D, poeple get played to test/review these games so that the bigger companies with the money to support them, give the small guy with a killer game a chance. If you don't see it here in the 'states', its probly because the game would just not sell, for one reason or another, like its really not that good, aside from some great art. Games, especialy RPG's need more then just good art.

"Yah, there is a reason why the big games are big, and these sites review them, they are just better in the grand scope of things."

Sorry dude but that is the most ignorant comment I've ever heard of, reviewing something that everybody is, does not put you in the grand scope of things! That just means you'll be lucky if people comes to your site first to get the news!

"If these smaller games were really that good, don't you think the bigger companies would have picked em up already? You cannot honestly tell me that if you found that game, that the big companies have no clue about it. Second these games are not made by small companies, and obviously you wouldn't know otherwise an assumption wouldn't be made lol Just goes to show how much you take into consideration of things before you posted the comment. The biggest video game company in China is WindThunder, UserJoy technology and Softstar their games are everywhere in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong Singapore. So believe me if they wanted to they can compete with Japanese developers and give them a run for their money!

"If you don't see it here in the 'states', its probly because the game would just not sell, for one reason or another, like its really not that good, aside from some great art. Games, especialy RPG's need more then just good art."

Again you make alot of assumption regarding these games and also stated something about games that's been released here by the BIG COMPANIES. Like Square's FFX, great art! alot of time invested into it and game plot line ? sucked! Yeah it got alot of reviews and it got alot fanboys who's too stupid to see how bad the game was and more of them aren't even old enough to understand how to review games. Games in china are taken serious, why? because they love it and they want their audidence to love it! You can tell by the packages the games recieve and people that work for them day and night. Unlike here, everything is a profit, not for their audience for a mere extra 3 zeros on their pay check. So next time you want sound smart about games that aren't released here think about it this way: WHAT IF THEY'RE NOT INTERESTED IN RELEASING THE GAME HERE?! remember the snes days? how many rpgs were not released here?! ALOT! So do yourself a favor know what you're talking about before you post. You belong with RPGfan.com lol

I apologize for the doubt post, but here is more for about the first game I showed you guys.

For the first game Heroine Anthem 2.; its a sequel to Heroine Anthem: The Elect of Wassernixie (or bride of Mermaid if you will). Heroine Anthem is a story follows the girl Edda, who drowned at sea trying to save this boy while on board a slave ship. She was saved by the mermaid prince, who turned her into a mermaid intending to make her his bride. She fled the palace of Mermaid under the help of a lobster named Bedin, wanting to find her lost sister; who was also sold into slavery. During her advanture in the mermaid world, she finds out that Ragnarok is upon the world, and the Dark Ark of Noah has also returned (the Dark ark of noah has monsters trapped in it since the time of the great flood). So bascially she is trying to stop it from happening and finding her sister. The game is split into two parts that tells one whole story which is an interesting way for an RPG to present itself(like the way Matrix's 2 and 3 presented itself).

The entire game takes place in a 2D world (well 3D pre-rendered background) and there is no world map, so going from place to place takes alot of walking or running around through forests, dungeons and moutains etc.

Music wise I think its very well written here is couple of music samples hope you'll enjoy.

http://www.rit.edu/~wqd9695/HA2/music samples/Track29.cda

graphic wise it is 2gb of pure 2D graphics. I would show some frames, but I can't seem to get this tool working right, so maybe at a later time.

Battle system wise it is also quite different from many of the traditional rpg battle system. Each character has special moves that takes up SP(SP can only be gained from being attacked) and then each takes a certain amount of time and when u select a move it is allocated onto his or her action bar; certain moves take alot of the time and certain takes very little and you can do this for all characters and these characters will excute all the list of actions you have allocated onto their action bar. So timing is definitly a very important element in this game, it could mean wining and losing an important mission. and all the characters can be attacking at the same time causing an effect of linear motion battle system like Tales of Destiny. Once a characters action has ran out you'll be prompted to select more actions. Character placement are also up to u, u get a 3X3 grid to form your formations. Characters in the front actually do get attacked more than characters in the back and also ur spell has ranges so how u place ur character can also mean whether or not ur spell will effect them in battle to save them.

Magic system is also quite interesting. Through out the game you find rune stones that has certain vocabulary attached to them individually. To create magic spells u need to learn the enchantment of it to get the spell to form properly. which I dont think any other rpg is sporting that yet. You can also form summon spell, which I've yet to be able to do so, since u can only learn certan enchantments at a certain stage of the game.

Cutscenes in this game is done with real nice anime and decent CG and converted into Bink Video. Some reason WindThunder never makes HIGH res CGI movies for their game, so some of the movies seems blocky. I guess the intention is let the game speak for itself rather than having high res cutscenes to speak for it.

here is one movie. Go here http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm if you dont have bink video tools.

this should be enough info for you guys to start on.
