After doing a search and not finding something similar, I thought I could ask here.
I tried running No$GBA 2.6a under openSUSE Linux with Wine. It seemed to work only with Yoshi's Island DS. Other tried ROMs such as New Super Mario Bros threw every instant a same error message: "err 000000" while the emu still tried to run the ROM. The only difference Yoshi's Island DS has respect the other ROMs I have is that it's the only one which requires the BIOS NDS file.
Tried with No$Zoomer, but it doesn't even see the ROM files when browsing them, it cannot open them then.
Could it be the emu works with some DirectX libraries which should be first installed someway in Linux? Or what do you think?

Hmm, I used linux long time ago, and I did try No$GBA in it. All my games worked just fine, no problems, I haven't use No$zoomeer in linux so I can't tell if it works or if it doesn't. I was using Fedora 12, a great linux distro :). Also I install dx in wine just in case that my emus needed that :p.

well at the very least set your renderer to nocash instead of opengl

Thanks very much. Setting render to nocash fixed the other ROMs issue. But No$Zoomer still doesn't work. It doesn't see the ROM files in the directory they are. As if it only looked for "No$GBA files" and not ROM files...

Try selecting "All files" under File type. And doublecheck if you're in the correct directory.

Under File Type the only option is "No$GBA files", not even the "All files" option. And I'm pretty sure I'm on the right directory, if that's what you mean.

Do you have No$Zoomer 2.3.0.2 with the newest language pack (both found in the sticky)?

Running a program that hooks another emulator/program in an emulator is something that's almost certainly doomed to failure.

I downloaded No$Zoomer from the sticky a month or 1.5 months ago. I guess it's version 2.3.0.2, but I still don't know how to check its version after having tried it. Regarding an emulator emulating an emulator, No$GBA seems to work fine under Wine. The problem is No$Zoomer not recognizing the ROM files.

that's because it can't hook no$gba in Wine

Oh, I see... That's a shame, but it must be normal at this point...
Anyway, I like No$Zoomer because it runs in a much higher resolution, fixed a bug with sand walls in Yoshi's Island DS, and other pros I don't remember. But also I discovered that Zoomer also may have some bugs respec to normal No$GBA. Most recent example was red coin #10 in World 3-6, which doesn't appear in Zoomer, but does in No$GBA. Point is both of them are complementary.
Is there other way to run No$GBA at higher resolutions without lowering desktop resolution? Regarding other possible bugs, is there a way to bypass them without Zoomer and without restarting to Windows?
And, any other final suggestions? Thanks.

Nope, if you're on linux you're pretty much stuck with just no$gba and can't use anything else in conjunction with it cuz they all hook no$gba which isn't possible whilst emulating a windows like environment. In other words if no$gba can't do it on it's own then you can't.

Actually, I use Xubuntu, and I have managed to use No$Zoomer, if not exactly perfectly. Although the No$Zoomer window does not function, once I unchecked the hide option, it was revealed that No$Gba does function, as does the EXTRA options on No$Zoomer. I was able to open and play roms which, on No$Gba alone, crashed or were unplayable.

Finally, I was also able to run No$Zoomer on Wine, though I haven't tried the EXTRA options and cheats yet...

The point is, it turned out that from the beginning I was making a big mistake by renaming "NO$GBA.exe" to "NOGBA.exe". I did this because Wine doesn't accept the character '$' when trying to run from console. But by doing this Zoomer was unable to locate No$GBA's path (guess it looks for it by its exact name) and the ROMs were not shown. Renaming "NO$Zoomer.exe" without the '$' character gives no problems though.

I didn't have issues with Zoomer's window, but I was indeed having some errors in the console which prevented Zoomer to start after fixing NO$GBA's name. I fixed this by deleting NO$Zoomer.ini file each time I want to use Zoomer, and it seemed to work all well.

So, renaming "NO$GBA.exe" is useful ONLY when using it instead of Zoomer. Otherwise should not be renamed.
