No$gba v2.2, v2.3
Notes on New NDS Emulation
--------------------------

Hello to first no$gba version with NDS support. Parts are working fine, parts
are under construction. The most important (missing) things to be aware of
are:

Missing Feedback!
What's up? Feedback on no$gba v2.2a was great, that although it couldn't run
homebrew "libnds" programs. That's been fixed in v2.2b, and I've been hoping
that it'd allow a couple of people to use & test no$gba with their games, and
to get some useful feedback and bug reports from them. From that point of
view, v2.2b has been a total flop, and it seems to have caught even less
interest than my Atari 2600 emulator :) For v2.2c, if something doesn't
work, please let me know about it!
(Got some great bug reports on newer no$gba updates, many thanks!)

Major Missing Features
Sound, and WLAN emulation are still missing. Sound should be relative easy
to implement. WLAN should be quite simple, too. I'd still need a second
NDS console for testing communications.

3D Video - new in v2.3
All relevant 3D functions should be implemented in no$gba v2.3.
It's still excluding a couple of "cosmetic" effects like Fog, Toon, etc.
In some games, some vertex coordinates appear to be totally distorted,
I haven't yet figured out what is causing the problem.
Bug reports from programmers would be very welcome, especially if you
can track it down the bug to occur only in whatever specific situations...

Things that work only with real NDS-BIOS-image
The "decompression-with-callback" BIOS functions are currently working only
if you do have a copy of the real BIOSes as ROM-images (see Installation
and DS Xboo chapters).
Encrypted ROM-images (with encrypted first 2Kbytes of the secure area) can
be used only if the (full) NDS7 BIOS ROM-image is present (which contains
the 1048h-byte decryption seed data).

Minor Missing Features and Glitches
Game screen sizing doesn't work yet. VRAM viewer Tile/OBJ windows don't
work. In the DOS version, the NDS video emulation currently appears
totally distorted.

Notes
Use Ctrl+T in debug mode to toggle between the two CPUs.
Oh, and the monetary stuff, my bank account is just about to drop to zero,
so I'll probably need to charge some update fees for future no$gba/no$nds
versions, at least from users whom have registered more than 12 months ago.
Some suggestions on reasonable update fees would be great; what would you
pay, and what do you think other companies would pay?

Anyways, for now, the current no$nds beta version is a free update for all
registered no$gba users. As usually, I'd be glad about some feedback, bug
reports, and maybe a priority list for missing/incomplete features, ie.
what you'd prefer to be implemented in the next update.

2.2f had some bugs because I test with gba games and it had bad flash or something but 2.3 resolve that problem!! Great.... The NDS is also improvement but it will not run NDS commercial games ...just not yet.

It run just fine but you cannot see on the bottom for an answer or something like that ... amazing! The next version might be even better. :)

You will have to press start quickly before fmv or it will crash when there are the bats. Anyway, when you select save then there is an orange on the bottom that is closed waiting to be reveal but error come up complaint about code missing in this emulator I think.

Heh! It's cool! It is going to getting better in few months or so. :)

Castlevania - Dawn of Sorrow (U)

Taos Adventure Curse of the Demon Seal (U)

castlevania - fmv is a little bit faster than iDeaS version. Actually, you can input your stuff on the title screen in Castlevania, it's just that the graphics aren't there. So it does go ingame, but sprites don't show

taos adventure curse of the demon seal has no responsive after touchscreen.

Metroid Prime Pinball (U)
Just great!! Playable. Little slowdowns.

This emulator is going to be rock! :)

i downloaded this and it dont work i am guessing i downloaded the wrong one or some thing so can u give a a link to it? plz
What do you mean ? Explain ?

Note: You require the ARM7 and ARM9 BIOS dumps (named BIOSNDS7.ROM and BIOSNDS9.ROM respectively) as well as a firmware dump (FIRMWARE.BIN) in your NO$GBA directory, and the secure area in your roms must be encryted to get it to work.

ok and were do i get thoses files BIOSNDS7.ROM and BIOSNDS9.ROM and FIRMWARE.BIN??
saw that coming from a mile away. the code itself isn't illegal -- it's the fact that you're using someone else's dump that exposes your soft and tender legal underbelly. well, that, and the fact that you'd much rather spend time downloading than money on a ds. okay, i'm kidding. even though in all probability you could be an executive at nintendo, it is important to know that in emulation, you've got to be careful what questions you ask and which areas you wander into -- you might find yourself stepping on a mod or two's toes, or even a lawyer's.

...and to simplify this rather confusing post:

Don't ask for BIOS images. Either dump them yourself or search for them.

So far desmume and ideas do not played gba games but nds only. No$gba is only one that was running gba games and now nds roms ... that is very nice to feel it like a real nds lite which allow you to play gba games too. COOL! :)

I think it is going to be my favorite emulator soon after VisualBoyAdvance!

So either the game isn't supported, yet, or you don't have the right BIOS files. There should be a Readme to the emulator. I guess that everything is explained there.
You are wrong. This nds roms are decrypted and you need a tool for decrypted roms to be encrpytion to work correctly on this emulator. His bios are correct. He need a tool for nds roms to be encrpytion thats all.

F-3582,

Ngemu and no$gba did mentioned:

just in case you didnt pay attention to the quotes at the beginning of the above

Guys, i´ve tested Star Wars Ep III, Lunar Dragon Song, Advance Wars Dual Strike and Age of Empires .... of these, only Age of empires has worked. Others have failed to start. has anyone experienced different results? Thanks :)

Please, it is still in development and there are nothing to be different results. We are all in the same boat. If it didnt run then it is not emulated yet. Give it few months to 6 months, perhaps then we will see the improvement in emulating nds games that was previous not worked. :)

Hello Naruto12345678, and welcome to the Forums. :)

You haven't given enough information for people to be of much help for you, so could you answer a few questions, such as;

Are you trying to emulate the GBA game Megaman Battle Network 5?
I assume you are using this No$gba emulator, correct?

After you answer those two I will, or someone will, be able to help you better.
