well the very first mpeg i got i imported it into sony vegas which seems to handel it pretty well.
Sorry, I was thinking off Window's standard Movie Maker - being the most-widely used tool to create such AMVs (at least, from the AMVs which I've seen) evident by its 'special' effects which seem a little over-used nowadays :). Sony Vegas is a virtual god compared to Movie Maker though, don't you agree? :D

Ok friend i tested your application with my ffx dvd and can say it worked!!! Extracted almost 49 pss files from which 19 are obviously movies, the rest is a bunch of pss files of meres kb (think would be link to the audio of the video???)
So I tested a lot of programs to play the damned big files without any success... So I readed that the pss files besides of being hidden are also encrypted.... damn square!!! I would suggest to them to sell a rope along with the game to hang myself from the highest building!!! they have a building making the game and another building thinking how to protect the damned files!!!
Well back in the topic, if anyone had found a way to successfully break the encryption of the files, extract them, or anything please respond...
Another thing is that I know that ffx has almost 50fmv's and the program as I said before only extracted 19 big files..... what could that be???...its 0.98gb the whole folder. Another thing, I have the sces version of the game the one that came with all the extra things and yes I tested all the programs in this forum and none worked for me, So I'm heading to a dead end???, please help, I so badly want to have the damned files in my pc... Download them is an option but I haven't found the videos in none of the servers known by all, blue laguna and other sites are useless since I can't download avi directly, so If anyone could upload the videos in rar to any servers or be kind to give any directions I would be reaally thankful.

Eoraptor, i don't understand your question, but the pss files extracted in this game are movies, the song for this movies i don't know of where extract. But these pss files rename to mpg, and open with any video encoder, (i used Sony vegas, or total video converted, and work perfectly), and transform a .avi .mp4 or whatever you want. The song for this movies i don't know where download. (I really sorry for my poor English ^_^)

Thanks friend, but I guess you didn't understood me, the disc is Final Fantasy X sces, and I already tried that, when I try to rip/open the file my player would say cannot render the file(I'm not a noob in video codecs I have my pc armed with serious video decoders and make sure I could play pss files before) It's that the pss files of FFX cannot be converted directly or even if you renamed it to mpg, the converter program would launch an error. I readed that the pss files of FFX are also encrypted, that would explain the inability to play or convert the file.Again, I'm saying its with FFX not FFX-2
...Any idea??? I'm stuck in this step, and thanks for your attention.

working perfect on ffx2 usa, play the files with mpc-hc, i watched the secret ending

thanks

Hello, do I have a very important question that to wonder, it turns out that I have the ffx (have unloaded several versions, pal, jap, it usa) and with none I can extract the videos of final fantasy x, have the ffxripper, the ffxmov, and with none it me works, but I have proved the program ffx_mov_extractor, and with that one it extracts to me the files pss, but there is no way of reproducing these files or of turning them, I have proved the pss plex, the pss demux, there is no way of reproducing the files and of turning them, they can help me? sorry if it is not understood, a translator used because I am Spanish.

I leave this file pss of example
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LQIF6TYV

Tank You Very Much. I use it extracted all Movies from the Final Fantasy X-2 USA.
It is able to extract *.pss files from FFX-International Edition, but these *.pss files can not be play or converted. PSSplex can not convert it either.

Sorry, I Input a incorrect words hastily.
it should be "Thank".

To anyone trying to extract FFX movies, use FFXMOV 2.11
Double-click the movie you want to extract, click on extract, and it will work, I just did it with FFX International.

Thanks for that.. I found a working link here: ffx2mov_2.11.zip

1. What this program does?
The FFX2mov extracts both video and audio streams
from DVD of Final Fantasy X. (JAP, US or UK-PAL)
UK-PAL only. Other European countries' version is NOT supported.

2. Usage
1.- Select a DVD drive you use.
2.- Double click on a movie name, then "X" mark appears.
If you select all the movie, press Ctrl+A and if you
cancel all the movie, press Ctrl+X.
3.- Click extract button.
4.- Wait a moment until it is done.

I was able to extract PSS files from my Australian Pal version of the game with this too. But I'm not sure if this actually works with FFX, the tools author did say it didn't work from FFX on page one so... I'm presuming and files extracted are encrypted somehow so they can't be used or are just empty files with no actual video information in them just files buffed out so be the sizes they should be. It did after all only take 2mins to extract them all for me, no other program I've used can extract 49 pss files so fast.

The NTSC pss files of FFX are encrypted, so no luck there with me. I used FFX2MOV, but it's a bad extractor because the movies play so fast and skip frames. So now I'm downloading the PAL version of the game and i'll update my results later... *sigh*

FFX2MOV is meant to work with NTSC FFX? My Pal version doesn't work with FFX2MOV I get frame skipping too... I think the UK pal version may be different but I'm not sure I'm only testing with my original game.

Yesterday a friend and I were looking into this and he was able to rip the game perfectly with FFX2MOV (NTSC-U original black label Squaresoft) on his XP PC. No matter what i always get files that play too fast. At first i thought it was probably because I have the greatest hits version (Square Enix), but he also tried with a brand new greatest hits version (Square Enix) that he has and the extraction was successful.

It have tried it on 2 different PCs so far one Vista and the other Windows7 and always get the frame skipping. My conclusion is this:

1. Either Something is wrong with my CD, although it doesn't have major scratches but it does have a few. I need a disc in perfect condition.

or

2. You have to be using Windows XP (That's what my friend used) I have an XP but I assumed something's wrong with the DVD decoder because it won't read FFX at all, but strangely enough it reads XII and other PS2 games perfectly, which leads me to think again that something is wrong with my CD.

----------------------------------------------------

so when I get paid i will try to find a new copy of FFX preferably black label and try again. :D
