I have never seen Hellsing, even thou my lil bro has porbably all of them. I'll wait till someone DUBs it so I don't have to read . He always argues that subs are better, but I fail to see how. I dont watch toonz/tv to read. Anyhoo, my question about Hellsing is, His name is Alucard Desu correct? That spells Used Dracula backward, now does this have a meaning or am I digging here?

Yes I know it horribly off topic sorry.

P.S. Possible new sig soon. I have about 30 or so I made to choose from...

That's evil!!!!
The Japanese voices are much better. Normaly the english voices simply don't pick up the character of the character (can you say redundant :p).
Prime exmple: I watched The Slayers a while back, and one of the episodes was dubbed. Lina was a different person without Hayashibara Megumi-san's dulcet tones.

Just trust me onthis, don't watch dubs. It's just plain wrong, and most of the time makes the Anime seem childish.
His name is Arukarudo, but because of the limitations of the Japanese alphabets, it is indeed Alucard, Dracula backwards. Watch the anime and realise how much he desrves taht name.

Dubs Evil . The only dubs i saw that were at least as good as the original jap voices (no such things as dubs better then jap) was DBZ .

Hellsing is just great in jap , but i hope they wont kill it off with dubs .

I don't know nearly enough Japanese to know how to ask where I can find a bathroom. English is my primary language. I am not one of those people who will only listen to the original language of a product regardless of what that language might be. So why did I become a Japanese/sub-only guy? I believe one of Piro's rants from some time ago concerned the subject of why he listened to Japanese despite being similarly lacking in Japanese (although he knows a fair bit more than I do ). He suggested that although he didn't know the words, he could still understand the acting and differentiate between what was good and what was bad. Even if I'm actually quoting someone else ( ), these sentiments are my own.

I initially watched a good twenty shows with English dubs first and then Japanese/subtitled releases after that. In each and every case, I vastly preferred the job the Japanese actors did, some shows to the point that I liked them when listening to the Japanese version (namely Ninja Scroll). After that point, I pretty much stopped watching any English dubs. This point has been further confirmed by a quote from an English VA - Wendee Lee, I believe (although my memory may again be playing tricks on me). She suggested that English VAs could improve on the job of the Japanese VAs by having better lip synching. If that's what English VAs are aspiring for, that may be the reason I have such a different opinion of the two languages. On the first episode of the post-Kyoto arc of Kenshin, there was a guest VA who was totally off in lip synching (I'm talking Godzilla dub off here). But you know what? The acting itself was superb. In just this way, I find that Japanese acting "clicks" with me more. I laugh a lot more at some Japanese acting (especially in Gokudo) when I have no response to the English track. I've been brought to tears by the performances in shows like the RK OVAs when I feel nothing in the English adaptation.

So what if I don't "understand" everything that's being said? If it is one of the main reasons why I love anime so much, is that not enough reason for me to listen to the Japanese track?

>> It's neat, though I think it'd be better if it weren't an animated gif.

I prefer animated avatars... =/

>> or at least a little faster animation ?

How is it now? Made it a bit faster.

>> love it ^_^ but i liked the one where we could se his/her(? ^^) hair better ^^

You meant my previous avatar? I like that one, but I am kinda bored with it.

BTW: I just decided to improve my sig and uploaded this one instead. what do you think about it?

heh, thanks Chaos, ( another thanks go to the lightning effect in PainShop Pro 7 too ;)).

PS: She is not Aya Brea ( the one from PEII) , she's from Xenogears ( boy, I am talking too much about this game recently :p)

I got lazy about making any new avatars sigs or anything after the facts weighed down my hopes of making anything pretty and crushed me. (I know that didnt make sense but I wanted to tadd about the crushing...it felt like crushing I swear...maybe that was just my CD tower falling on me... I gotta pick up all my CDs now...poo...)

edit: well the thread hasnt died (I noticed the last post was the same night as this one)

I havent been here in maybe 5 months...has it been that long?
