For some reason a good majority of the bots i try to connect to are never able to. It always times out :( I already set up My DCC is already set to auto get file and resume. And Ignore is disabled, what could be causing my downloads to time out all the time?

This is what im doing, I get in Que for a file. The Download window opens. A message Saying "accepting send" is in the window, window closes. it follows with a message on the server saying it timed out.

Are you downloading from a bot or FServ?

From the looks of it your ports are not forwarded.

Where are you doing the download from? School? Home?

can someone just tell me how to do it? i can get into his computer, cuz i know he wont do it if i ask him too.
time in the IP of your router in IE
if its password protected then you dont have a choice but aask your daddy
if not then there should be a section for portforwarding, from there on it should be pretty easy to enter the settings

In order for port forwarding to be effective, you have to use static addressing on your LAN, otherwise you won't know where to forward the ports. So, the first thing you need to do is switch from DHCP (which is the default) to static.

I have the same problem. I have no router or firewall, but one cable modem. DCC on any IRC client dont work at all usualy (the ones who require a /dccserver command do, since its telling mirc on which port to listen forceably ..) .

Anything i can do about that ?
