There are a total of 20 possible ways to drop the coins so unless we get all the possible sums, I think it's probable that there's more than one solution.

Wasn't thinking right when I posted this. There are 8 possible combinations, not 20. I forgot that once you've already dropped a coin, you eliminate two options and not just one. (6*4*2/3! instead of 6!/3!)

You said "inside the cube" on your picture... now you said on the cube... so now I'm confused. :/

If there is a path inside the cube (ie. can go through the cube), then the snail (or whatever you want to change it into now) will travel from one corner to the other corner with the carrot.

Otherwise, if you can only move on the surface or edge of the cube, the answer will be 9.657m.
