Hi.
I'm an enthusiastic Epsxe user, then one of the main reasons that encouraged me to move to Linux long time ago, was that Epsxe works on it. So, when you announced a new version, I started to check the news section everyday...
It was a little disappointing for me, therefore, discover that there isn't a new linux version avalaible...
I hope you've seen develop version 1.70 for Linux; anyway, congratulations on the good work you have made from several years.
Greetings from Chile.

It'll be done, when its done, if its even being done.

That's not exactly an answer... We are waiting for a Linux version, maybe for nothing. So you could at least tell us if there will be a Linux release of EpsxE.
Maybe I'm just wasting my time going to EpsxE website every day to see if there is finally a Linux release........

Ps: It's not a peronnal attack, I don't even ask when the Linux version will be released. I'd just like to know if there will be a Linux release or not.

we dont know. ask the developers since they are the ones who make it, not us.

That question is not asked regardless of the forum you are in.

Emulator devs do not cater for the "when is it ready" or "is it being done" questions.

I wonder if it would work in Wine..
It did for me. I had to download zlib1.dll and put it in the ePSXe directory, and obviously you need to have all the Windows plugins (I just use petes OGL2 GPU plugin). Then, so long as you've setup Wine properly it seems to work fine (change to the ePSXe directory before running the exe)! That said, I've only tried FF9, but all the problems with that have been fixed, so I'd imagine it'd work fine with other games.

Well, it is not a "when is it ready" question. It is "is it in the making/will it exist" question. If I were a Linux user I would also like to know, thus judging if it is a good thing to start tweaking Wine or to just wait.

don't worry

when i heard about the release of 1.70 the other day i also checked straight away for the linux version ;).

epsxe is a closed-source project, so you'll simply have to wait for the epsxe devs on this one. regardless, i highly doubt they'd abandon linux at this point, especially considering the amount of popularity linux has been gaining this year (eg. ubuntu). so just be patient and i'm sure they'll come through. i'll be waiting along with you.

i agree, i think they are fine tuning 1.7 for now, since in its current release it has a few kinks.

I think There will be a Linux version. Here is some logical thought, first. as it is in the pass, it always have a Linux version. Second all the new plugin already has a Linux first. At last, Linux is grow up, there are more and more Linux user, and less and less windows user. I mean if the developer see Linux important in the pass, What is the reason that they don't see it as now?

P.S. And Yes 1.7.0 do run under Wine, Not perfect yet though. I actually get the news of 1.7.0 from Wine's website.
