I'm trying to use ePSXe to run physical PlayStation discs on my PC, but it's not recognizing them.

I tried using a different emulator and it said that the disc didn't appear to be a PlayStation format disc.
Nuh-uh man, these are the OG, black-bottomed, real deal discs.

Is it an issue with my PC? If so, can I download something that will allow my PC to recognize the discs, or am I just SOL?

Thanks.

PS1 discs are (mostly) standard CDROMs. There is a lead-in section with purposely borked data that PC CDROM drives assume is damaged data and ignores. This is standard operating procedure for trying to read a disc.

That said, there are some crappy CD/DVD drives that do not operate in this manner. Most of them tend to be the portable USB variants that require a special driver rather than just passing the drive as a standard disc drive.
