My brother was BIG into the computer and gaming scene back in the days... he was significantly older than me (8 years older), so I was surrounded with more "mature" and "complex" stuff from a very young age. I really HAVE been a gamer pretty much my entire life. I don't know if I should be proud of that or not.

Kaiser,
Crash Bandicot isn't bad for kids actually. But I just think the game sucks (to me anyway), so I don't recommend it, for any age. :D
Yeah well I concur, but he never said that the games had to be of superb quality ;)

Plus the latest installment (was it CB3 ?) wasn't that bad...

Nice, this one grew quite fast :) Well, since I'll be giving the games to the father, I don't want something with too-much gore. Don't get me wrong, kids will know violence sooner or later. Anyway, Crash is definatly nice if u NEVER played it before ;) Tony Hawk and Taxi are good as well. Tekken is surely gonna do. U see, I'm looking for a list that has both games he can just have fun with them anytime he wants (previously mentioned games) and some that will last longer. any simple RPGs?

breath of fire 3 is pretty simple and so are the suikodens. can't go wrong with the wild arms either.

i think i have a list of games of psx for a 12 year old boy:-

tony hawks pro skater 2 & 3
street fighter ex plus alpha 2
metal gear solid 1
taxi 2
king of fighters 99
007 james bond tommorow never dies
007 james bond the world is not enough
bloody roar 2
tekken 3
blade 1
metal gear solid?! that game is M rated! and a bunch of the games you picked are fighting games...

of course, when i was 12 i played MGS1 (when it came out....1999)

EDIT: MGS might have come out in 1998....not sure, whatever, you get the idea, i played it in 1999 anyways

what about the powerpuff girls game. ;)
and then theres also the kiss and austin powers pinball games. :eyes:

if you're going for the really cheesy kiddy games, just look for the ones that came out after the psx died.

come on, no more "cheesy" games. ok maybe DDR Disney is OK, as I did mention Disney games in general.
But Powerpuffs? Don't get me wrong, I like Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, on their show, but their games suck.

the show is pretty funny sometimes. they throw in little comments that kids can't understand. anyways, obvioulsy i was joking about powerpuff girls. however, i wouldn't waste my time/money with crappy games. if anything, get him some gran turismos, and some sports games. just something that definetly has quality, just not rated M.

well it depends on how advanced he is at 12, at age 12 i could handle stuff like that (M or R rated), so it depends on how mature he is.....

thats obviously true. i was playing mortal kombat when i was 9. but, he's asking for kid games so...

thats true, but at least in my area, they're not the easiest games to find in stores. the last capcom game i saw was darkstalkers 3. and i think its gone now.

true. i wish somewhere had street fighter alpha 3....my friend's copy has a huge scratch so we cant play it (well at least until we get one of those scratch removers)
