first off CUSORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR you guys destroyed the thread where i was getting help of getting either a laptob or a desktop sorry if this offended the guys who were helping me but i wasnt getting a laptob or desktop just for playing pcxs2 i was deciding because my comp is crap so im thinking of getting either a laptob or desktop. ok now for the real thing well you see my friend needs help on his emulator he has the stuff legally just in case you guys think some stuff well he asked me because i was already in this forum his problem is his pc get slow(lag) when i try to play games on PCSX2?
I only get about 5 - 6.5 fps(sometimes worse). The game i was try to play is "Tekken 4http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t198/saM_0204/sys_req.jpg i would appreciate it thnx and plz dont argue again

EMULATOR IS NOT COMPLETE , if you want decent performance in 3D games , spend your money on a mid high end or high end computer(bascially)...

Explain what? This emulator is a Work In Progress. It's understandable to have low framerates. If he's so desperate to play Tekken, he has his PS2 to play on.

Also, if you have time to post a new topic, could you do so with more attention towards your spelling/grammar? Your posts are always filled to the brim with spelling errors and grammar deviations. It makes it ridiculously difficult to read your posts without sitting down and cross examining it.

The computer specifications (CPU (speed, type), RAM (Quantity), GPU (Graphics card name)) would help us help your friend. If those are the speeds being achieved, your friends machine is either incredibly weak, or PCSX2 is setup very badly.

I'm getting tired of people blaming low performance (FPS) on the emulators "level of completion", the emulator already uses sophisticated recompilers and techniques to produce the best speeds we can hope to achieve!

PS2 emulation requires very powerfull machines, you try emulating a 1.xGHz multi CPU behemoth with massive memory bandwidth faster!

Anyways, you want the culprit "Playa"? Your CPU sucks. If you haven't noticed, the Pentium 4 line doesn't do very well with this emulator. You want good speed, invest some money into your rig (dual core + 64 bit preferrably) and as good a video card as you can get.

If I understood that post correctly, the guy has a problem knowing what to buy.

Hint 1: laptops will never achieve the power of desktops.
Hint 2: Laptops are far more difficult (let alone expensive) to upgrade.
Hint 3: If you want a preassemled and tested desktop, the new Commodore XX is nice.
Hint 4: the most expensive is hardly the best option.
hint 5. Don't buy a DirectX 10 compatible graphics card just yet.
hint 6: Dual (or more) core is almost a must these days.
Hint 7: 64-bit is out there.

The rest is pretty much up to your wallet and personal preference. (And the motherboard you'll purchase).
