Hey guys, i'm new to these forums. Signed up because I need a little help running FF7 on this ePSXe.

It's been working fine the whole time, not a glitch to speak of. But now I've gotten to disc 2, and I've got a problem.

When I get to the part of the game where Bugenhagen inserts the Key to the Ancients into the music box, and the "image is projected onto the water", Bugenhagen tells me to enter the image projection. When I do this, however, the screen goes black (as opposed to it going to a cinema screen) and it "freezes", more or less.

I've tried letting it go through the cinematic sequence (even though I can't see it), and it doesn't work. I've tried changing my video settings to the lowest possible, doesn't work. Honestly I'm out of ideas. Can someone give me a hand how to at least get THROUGH this scene, even if I can't see the cinematic sequence? I'd hate to have played it this long and not be able to continue.

Thanks in advance for your help, fellas.

He knows it's a cinematic scene in the waterfall.. so logically he has played it before.

maybe he just made a bad ISO.

If you do have the original PSX cd's try putting them in and play from them... if you already are playing with them try cleaning them and try again, then try to make an ISO (use alcohol 120% or cloneCD, and make sure to make it iso format)

thanks for replying guys.

i got my copy of FF7 from a friend, and he attained it legitimately. i just burned an ISO of it on my comp. don't know if this violates any of your rules, and feel free to tell me to **** off if it does. :p

any way to get around this problem? I don't think I can get my hands on his copy again. ridiculous! 50 hours of gameplay wasted! I wish I could just skip through this ONE part.

any ideas?

thanks again,

Just go grab the disc back and try it again...

alternatively, post up your save game. I've had to pass that part a bunch of times already (before I learned that it's usually from a bad rip). Occasionally it's not though.
