Hi,

First off thanks for all the stickys that contain lots of information. I can't seem to find anyone else having the same problem is me however. I have the texture disappearing problem that the nloop or ffx fix is supposed to fix and it doesn't? Check out the screenshot I have at the bottom.

My hardware is

8800gt, intel e8400 dual core, abit ip35, raptor. Windows xp 64
The configuration i'm using is

gsdx 1.7
zero spu2
linuz iso

The games crc is A39513AB.

Anything you could add would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Adam

Whoa, super low resolution.

Enable Nloop in GSdx, or FFXhack in ZeroGS, god, everyone just kinda skips over the 50 topics about this, or even ZeroGS's "Fixes missing Geometry in FFX" hack thing...

EDIT:Oh, so you're saying the fixes actually don't work? First I've heard of that.(I posted before I read it all, picture just told me all I needed to know, or so I thought, sorry:p)

It's a pal version, check it out(98%) and his low FPS could be due to the graphical error.

Heck, I've NEVER seen a bad rip do that, I mean some parts might skip, but that is something else.

I'm sure it's just cause of how it's messed up that it displays like that

But yeah, you can OC that quickly and fix any FPS issues.

Honestly, if you have those fixes enabled...I don't know.

All your hardware is top notch, and so are you plugins(from what I see)

Uhh, maybe your bio's weren't ripped correctly? Try that again.

Also, why is your deskptop so small and greyed? Did you install Video Card drivers for your 8800GT?

Also, I see 64 bit system...I know it works on it, but I don't know about the Graphic plugins compatibility with it.

ForceWare Release 169

169.21, not the best of drivers, but for the AVERAGE user, they'll do.

The windows are grey as I prefer the windows classic setup to the xp fancy windows. I didn't think my desktop is that small. It's 1280x1024. So I should try to re rip the ps2 bios? I'll give it a shot. Should I re rip the game while i'm at it? I myswell. Btw, my cpu is overclocked to 3.6. I have 8gb of patriot ram that I got a good deal on but unfortunetly they are limiting my overclock. I'm going to be replacing them with some adata that will overclock better soon.

Ah, I see, the screenshot cuts out the part where it tells your ACTUAL CPU Speed.

Sure, re-rip the game using DVD-Decrypter.

DVD Decrypter

Hmm, seems small to me(Must be my new monitor, still adjusting) Looked like it was super low res(1920 x 1200 makes you think that, LOL)

Best of luck.

Greyed means it'll enable itself if it needs it, I greyed it and it enables auto for me and works...so I don't think that's an issue.

Plus, he said he tried ZeroGS with the FFX hack and nothing. I know it's on his end, but I'm not sure what he is doing just wrong.

So, I re-ripped the game and the bios to no avail. Same exact problem. So I curiously downloaded an older version of pcsx2 version 0.9.2 and sure enough it works fine. I don't really get it but I'lll just have to live with it until a new version comes out or I can find out exactly why it isn't working. What's weird is the old version doesn't detect my sse cpu so I have to use the tlb version. And on the tlb version i'm using version 9.6 zero video non sse and thats what's working.

What a weird problem.

Yeah, kinda makes no sense...not sure what's going on.

If you read, he already has tried it, and it has no effect, or so he says.

#15 ·
Oh? It worked for me, but I guess maybe not for all versions.

He said he tried the FFX hack in ZeroGS also though...so I'm confused.

Hi,

So after doing some more tinkering around I still haven't been able to get version
0.9.4 to work. Currently I am using version 9.2 with gsdx1.7 and the graphics work fine. The problem is the frames are too fast and if I enable the the frame limit feature it crashes on game load.

As far as the "grey box" I've tried every way of running the game , grey, black, no box + manually activating it just doesn't work. On version 9.2 the moment I hit f9 it works. It has something to do with the way the two are compiled I'm guessing since the graphics plugin seems not to be the culprit as originally thought.

Thanks, Adam

Thanks for the tip I reinstalled it about 4 different times into different directories over different partions and it still is the same. Is there a developer on here that may know the differences between the version 9.2 and 9.4?

Thanks, Adam

P.s is there anyway to enable frame limit in version 9.2 without it crashing?

And a few chats with Seymour.

i had the same issues with the pal version of the game. maybe you have it for the same reason.

i was playing from save states and it would come out this way. go to a save sphere save, and then always use "run cd" to load a save game rather than loading save states.

it doesn't maintain the nloop hack through loading save states in the pal version for some reason.

Because Save States are unnatural on a PS2, well, many consoles infact, it tries to load all the information from the point you saved it at, exactly as it was, but the way most consoles handle data...this cannot be done.

Hey all,
I'm new on these forums, and to the ps2 emulation scene aswell as a matter of fact. First of thanks to those behind pcsx2 :)
Now, I'm here to say that I have the same problem as Xeo, although I don't have an International version of FFX, I own the platinum PAL version. As Xeo said, it works great on the 0.9.2 version of pcsx2, but does not work on the 0.9.4 and (I know I'm not supposed to say so but...) it does not work on the 0.9.5 beta either (same bug as with the 0.9.4 version).
This is a bummer since my specs aren't so great, and the 0.9.4 version is faster then the 0.9.2 one.
I have an Asus G1 laptop, 2gigs of ram, Core 2 Duo 2,2Ghz, GeForce 7700 512mb of ram.
So I wanted to know, did this problem evolve in the two weeks since the first post about it?
Has anyone been able to make a patch to correct this?
I don't know if this will help, but I could only get FFX to start on 0.9.4 when I loaded the iso for the game, when I had the DVD in my drive and the Peops plugin it would crash after saying EE Unimplemented op a few times...

Thanks for your help!
