I have just made an ISO of FF7 and I want to get to the Golden Saucer without having to go through the start of the game again.

I have heard that there are some sites that have save game files that you can d/l. Please can someone help me out?

The .gme means that it is in dex drive format doesent it?
I used the convert from dex to VGS tool and it converted it to .mem instead of the desired .mcr!!!

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Well, I have converted the save files to .mcr and placed them in the memory card folder and still nothing shows up when I try to load a game in FF7.

First of all, you shouldn't need to use a converter, ePSXe can read DexDrive saves without a problem.

Second, it's quite likely the saves on GameFaqs are NTSC. You can try changing them to PAL using the Memory Card Converter, you'll need to change the region to PAL and change the SLUS code to the one in your FF7 PAL CD. There's no guarantee this will work, but you may want to try it.

I´ve got a dexdrive some days ago and for me it works VERY well. I got my FF7 (PAL) and XG (NTSC) Savegames work on ePSXe, YEAH finally. First i downloaded also a memcard tool but ePSXe works just FINE with gme files!!

It's the ID of the CD. Should be written on top of it, and can be found inside the disk as well, it's one of the files in the root folder. One example, the code for my SaGa Frontier CD (NTSC/US) is SCUS94230.

To change them, get the Memory Card Manager at Aldo's site. Load the memory card in it, right-click the save game you want to change and select "Edit Slot". Again, changing the memory card from NTSC to PAL this way may or not work, depending on the game.

Well not nessesarily. It's normally on the root folder, however it can be located in any folder oif the cd (tekken 3 springs to mind). In any case there is always a file called system.cnf in the root folder. Basically its kind of the "autoplay" file for the disk. If you open it up in a tect editor the boot entry will tell you the id code and the files location.

no bad intentions huh. If you had no bad intentions Im sure you wouldnt resort to openly expressing your immature intollerence.

I try my best to work out problems but sometimes I just cant do it so I post on this forum. Perhaps you should only read posts from people who are proven experts. Then you wouldnt have to feel the need to scald people who havent spent as much time as you in this area!!

Try using my latest unreleased version of PSXMemTool @ http://psxmemtool.ngemu.com/files/PSXMemTool_1.18b_Setup.exe

Open your FF7 save, right click the slot you want to change region to, then choose European. Save your memory card and set ePSXe to use it. Then try your game, good luck :)
I have d/l that from 2 different places and each time it says unable to load dll!
Is there perhaps another program like it that actually works?

I have the dll files and it said this program has generated errors.
I then put the psxtool.exe in my memcards folder and it worked!!!!

Pity none of the save game files I have tried worked.
Does anyone know any other sites where I can get save games?
