I'm reposting the topic, since it became too full of stuff that didn't work anyway.

Well, FF9, I'm using:

eSpx 1.5.2
graphics: Pete's openGL
sound: Eternal SPU 1.4
CD-ROM: Peops (reading subchannels)
Bios shouldn't have anything to do with anythin else than making the emul run, right ?

FF9 won't load, black screen, no response. Either the pc works it's CPU to ashes while nothing is happening, or it's not working at all...

What's wrong ? it works on my sisters Psx so it shouldn't be the CD

Hmmm. Of course, the chances are we will say the same thing anyways but seeing it's deleted ....

Is it a Pal version? If so and you don't have either a ppf patch or sub channels enabled, you'll only see a black screen due to the games copy protection kicking in.

it's PAL (knew there was something I forgor to write), and I'm reading sub-channels (wrote that...)

There IS just a black screen! wee, found the solution! Full name of the patch plz, and also where to DL it

ok i think i need to clarify what betamax has said, but not quite said.

FF9 PAL is copy protected; it needs a PPF patch OR subchannel reading.

solutions:

1. get a PPF Patch. google is your friend
2. use a CDR plugin like PEops to read subchannels
3. make an ISO with subchannel data

you only need to do ONE of those 3 things.
