Hmm... I guess my strat for killing Ruby was just the classical Counter-Mimic KOTR-HP absorb... i just left the controller and returned in 15-20 minutes or so and Ruby was dead...

But that guy has indeed some skills... Emerald took me quite a while...

the Second Video he had Mimic Mastered / Linkied With Final Attack mastered also. Im not sure what final attack does ( dont remember) but i know mimic immitates your last attack. You know on the first video would probley be an easier solution if it was transalted

 

you can mime a limit break too, however other party members can't mime your limit break.

Edit: and that's what he did, sorry I only watched the first 10 sec, I posted when I was waiting for it to load.

 

In the first video it looks like that Lucky7 trick, but no Omnislash. It seems to be performed by Barret.

What Item does Cloud use on Barret???

 

The Hero's drink or something like that.

 

I think the limit break Barret used was Ungarmax.

I believe it's an item that boosts the character's stats for one battle.

 

He uses anger max limit break. That item cloud uses is the one that raises all the status values(strength, speed, stamina, magic, spirit, and luck).

The only materia barett has is command counter+mimic for a total of 8 pairs which means he does the limit 8 times.

 

Crap it took me 3 hours to kill this dude. ohh man :???:

heh, it took me 16 minutes the first time---i didnt use a guide or Underwater materia

 

The weapons are ridiculously easy to beat. I had a mime materia mastered on everyone. I had a mastered final attack attached to a mastered Phoenix materia, so I could never die. ( I DID die once....only cuz I was low on mp at the time) Start casting KOTR and mime it continously....maybe use a big guard periodly, and a w-summon doesn't hurt either. Side note: When fighting Ruby, it is best to use a w-summon hades/kotr combo...the status effects that hades puts on ruby really helps out. Also, when fighting ruby, since he takes 2 of your 3 characters right off the bat, you better hope he doesn't take the one with all the materias you need. Otherwise, you will be doing alot of soft resets.

ew, if you wnat a guide, use GameFAQs. their message boards are crap but their game guides are good.

btw apocalypse sword is one of those weapons that has triple growth of materia. a few other weapons do that too

 

how did you master your materia's so quickly?

I didn't the first time. Nowadays when I play FF7 through I use a gameshark code that can pretty much master any materia after one battle. (Except for the ones that take TONS of AP....that takes 2 battles ^_^ ) But the first time I played FF7...back in 1997 I think it was...I took the time to level everything up the HARD WAY. You know how long it takes to level up a mime materia 3 times??? OMG....My game clock was stopped at 99:59 cuz that's as high as it would go. Plus I also bred a golden chocobo the long way, and that took HOURS UPON HOURS. Trust me, there was no "quick" about it. It was one of the funnest times I've ever had with an RPG though.

Very impressive. Must have taken a hell of a lot of time and planning to pull it off, something that I don't have the patience for. I just killed Emerald using multiple Demi spells, and a second time using lucky 7 (I suddenly noticed that Tifa had it and used it on Emerald ), which didn't kill him but stripped him of more than half his life off the bat and I finished him off with Omnislash and some other attacks.

 

I did like Jldnr77 and levelled up the hard way. I think i spent around 400 hours (no kidding ) getting everyone at the highest level, with the 3 master materia (i mean the three that had all the spells, commands and summons), multislash at 4x, mime, etc. In the end i was inside the Gelnika transforming enemies into items to raise luck . Then one day i resatrted the game, and another i overwrote that save by mistake

When i killed emerald i had about 77 hours played, took me the time to summon 8 KOTR: Cloud launched WxKOTR, Tifa and Nanaki mimicked it, emerald attacked, Cloud counterattacked with a mimic.

Ruby was next, and resulted a little harder, i was lucky when defeating him. He took Cloud and Nanaki out of the battle, and left Tifa. Luckily, Tifa had KOTR linked to hp absorb at that time, and mimic . Cloud had a similar config, so only leaving Nanaki could have screwed me, but anyways, lucky i was

 

Wow amazing i manged to get 1way trips to rip land when fighting some of these guys in less than 5 seconds mainy that ******* one in the water shoots 3 attacks off the bat before it's my turn to attack.

 

I was waaay too lazy to master kotr and some of the high level ones... i think i only had kotr up to level 3. I double-cast it once and then mimicked the rest of the way (it cost alot less AP to master mimic then to just level up kotr)... no counters or anything fancy.
