Wut's krackin' i'm writin this, because i've read many walkthroughs and i'm still confused as to wut i need to do for the last sidequest. It's the one where the man says "One of you is close to someone who needs help... Find this person...fast." so if anyone could tell me who the person is or wut i need to do i would be very thankful.

PS i'd prefer if you just told me who it was

Maybe this is refering to the chancellor in 1000 ad. Remember u have to save him. (But I don't remember how.)

edit: I'm starting to remember now... After beating Rust Tyrano in Giants Claw, the ppl in the castle (1000 ad) will say that the king was put on a trial. So maybe this is refering to the king! (Makes more sence!!). Well, here's how to do it:

In the castle, climb the stairs to the right of the entrance to reach the courtroom. The chancellor says that the king sold the Rainbow Shell for cash, but the king denies ever hearing of the Rainbow Shell. In order to prove his innocence, you'll have to find it. Head down the stairs to the ground floor. There should be some stairs to your right. Head down them and you'll overhear two mosters gloating about how their boss intends to frame the king. You must now battle a series of very wimpy monsters in the basement. However, there are some very good treasures down here. Eventually you'll find the Rainbow Shell, which you can take a piece of and return to the courtroom. However, the king has already been pronounced guilty! Luckily, Marle arrives and shows everyone the piece of the Rainbow Shell, proving the king's innocence. However, the chancellor reveals his true identity: Yakra XIII! This guy may seem impressive, but he's only a mediocre boss who doesn't require any major strategy to beat. Just watch out for his needle attacks. When the battle is won, Marle and the king finally set aside their differences.

>If I can recall correctly, the person in need refers to queen Zeal, which is the mother of Janus(AKA Magus). Im pretty sure this is correct since the "guy" no longer says anything about it after you go through the black omen and fight Zeal...here's a pic.

How did you get back to the end of time after beating the black omen? I thought that you had to fight lavos directly after defeating Queen Zeal.

Simple :) Beat Lavos' first form, enter his shell, then there SHOULD be a portal leading to the EoT and a save point IIRC

And here's a great way to level up: destroy the Black Omen at year 1000 ad, then go back to 600 ad and destroy it again, then in 12000 bc again. Yeah, I know Black Omen is boring and have some strong enemies, but its still a great way to level up.

Nah, I think gouki29 is the one right... the old man is referring to Queen Zeal...
Well, The official nintendo magazine here (Club Nintendo) said it was Lucca's mother (they were making the guide with Nintendo Power).
But if you did the lucca's and Zeal's quest then whats the matter?

Club Nintendo ? You mean that magazine from Argentina ? Nevertheless, helping Lucca's mother doesn't affect the dialog with the old man... destroying Zeal on the other hand does...

Club Nintendo is the name of the official magazine in every country of latinamerica. The one i was referring was mexico's one.
About the thing about queen zeal, well, i never tried to return to the end of time after i entered in the shell. That proves even "official info" can be wrong sometimes.

Well i can give this answer as it is 100% correct
Go to the present with marle in your team,go to the palace and talk with the king schalas father.
Only the king is being framed by the chansallor for seling the rainbow shell(you have to get the rainbow shell in the dark ages to solve this puzzle)(it would be great if u had the sunstone too:you will find out why)hten you have to prove him innocent and it turns out the chansoller is the desendent of the first bossafter killinng him melechor makes you rainbow items from the shell and the sunstone.
IF that is wrong i will change my name .NO REALLY!

>Schala is Kid in CC technically
Schala is Magus sister
She has blue hair opposed to Kid's blonde

technically, schala and kid are different people, just that schala made kid basically, and she's her clone

*possible ct spoiler*
(sidenote) schala is magus' sister, although in RD magus' name is Magil or Gil, and in ct magus is janus, who gets teleported to the future after the "lavos and underground palace" event
*endspoiler*

She has blue hair in ct, and blonde hair in cc... and this is because in the japanese version it mentions that women in the kingdom of Zeal used to dye their hair, meaning that blue may not have been her actual hair colour, also meaning the developers were free to change it as they wished

well.... I will answer the first post, so if it has been solved already, then sorry (or an admin might as well delete this post)...

well that sidequest was a real headache for me too.... I looked in every place, but I found no clue.... then I decided to continue, so I went to the black oen, juist to know that it wass the last subquest....

well thanx for all the replies and i do think that beating zeal is the quest because i read somewhere that you need to get every person possible in your party (including Magus) and do all the sidequests to get the new game + optino, and after i went through the black omen and all of that the new game + option was available however i did beat it before without doing a couple of the sidequest but i didn't check if the option was available... maybe i'll start the game again from scratch...
