Chrono Cross freeze only at status screen

I have Chrono Cross running beautifully through ePSXe v.1.52 without the "-noauto" command line. No problems at all besides one:

When trying to access the status screen for a character the game move to the typical black loading screen (usually for a second or two), but freezes there. The music can still be heard but it essentially "freezes" as well, meaning it keeps skipping on one or two notes.

Not a biggie but it's odd that it is consistent with the status screen only.

Yeah I already had that ticked. I realized I should've mentioned that after I posted. Sorry.

So as far as I know those are all the basic Chrono Cross tricks. Anything else?
Are you sure you enabled the Special Fixes in general?
Anyway use another emulator like hushypushy said, i had no problem playing Chrono Cross with PCSX so you can try it.

lol im actually using 1.6 xD

1.6 with the " -noauto" thing set and with the even/bithack option on and it works fine. since it did work on 1.6 i didnt bother to give it a try on 1.5.2 xD but now i have ANOTHER problem *sigh* my MUSIC freezes after going to the 2nd loop of music.

for ex) first loop is normal notes in ex) abcdefg correct music but after the first loop in the background the music goes --> aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa while the song itself is still playing but theres a very loud single note that drags on until the music changes =\ its annoying =\ inmagine a single note of the in game music just running on forever

make sure u have the 'special game fixes' option checked too, otherwise all the game fixes u enabled through it won't work!

may sound silly, but it happened to me
im using Pete's Open GL 1.73 and it works fine, i dont think there's a need for the 1.75 version
