Alright, i think this topic deserves a own thread so that we can talk about it. I love marvel comics and stories and i do like the trailer(see below) but at the same time is so pointless in my opinion. First of all Batman is the good guy and so is Superman. Second how in hell will Batman ever beat Superman in the first place? is just silly. Batman is a badass and really awesome while Ken simply was born with the powers when judging by the story. Whatever the case may be Superman is simply far more powerful than Batman and there is no point at all, it's ridiculous in my opinion.

What do you think guys about the movie coming in 2016?

I may watch the movie but it doesn't make sense to me.

Well, at least they have a reason... It's the first step towards Justice League. And Batman and Superman are two of the main members in the JL. And Wonder Woman movie is also in the making. Not sure about Flash, it would be cool if they tied it with the TV series but I don't think they have a similar relation as the Marvel universe has with its TV series. If they did however, they'd also get Arrow.

And Aquaman...yeah, I don't think we'll see him in his own movie. Maybe he'll show up in Wonder Woman or something?

My thoughts:

AGAIN, a movie where we have BATMAN. BATMAN EVERYWHERE. Let's face the truth. The ONLY REAL DC character who can make interesting movies ( and games ) is...BATMAN.
The most known DC character ? BATMAN.
The most succesful DC movies ? BATMAN.
The most succesful DC games ? BATMAN.

Superman didn't even have a sequel before we see Batman again. I'm pretty tired of the character. Let's face the second truth: Marvel >>>> DC.

Just a thought. The eyes of the mask were glowing and all... He could have some form of assertive technology that could possibly make Superman's super speed useless and allow Batman to parry effectively or something... I mean... It wasn't typical batsuit. It was meant to withstand something or just give him an advantage of some sort. My opinion.

@@ruantec : I'm simply seeing it that there must be a way that they equalize the match, or they would have just made Man of Steel 2 with some other villain. They have their story, and that's what I'm waiting to see.

There is a huge difference between Batman and Superman. Batman is just non-stop badass who look for strategies to simply kick the ass of his opponent. Superman in the other hands has a huge power but he is mostly kinda dumb and love to get beaten before he says.... "time to stop the kiddo game and get serious". If he were as serious as Batman i personally see no chances for any opponent as he would just go back in time and rewind to simply kick the butt of his opponent in repeat mode.

The point here is that Batman simply has no chance so the movie makes little sense(at least to me).

That's why I said that it depends on the what era Superman Batman is against. The Man of Steel version, which this movie is a sequel to, is a much weaker version than the Christopher Reeve Superman for example, which was in fact more or less based on Silver Age since he was able to turn back time and stuff. We haven't seen him fly very fast and like I said, he almost got beaten by couple of minions in power armors in Man of Steel, and they clearly stated that the armors protected them from the sun's radiation meaning they were just "human" level inside them. And if you look at Batman when he asks if Superman bleeds, he's obviously wearing his own power armor there. Add to that the fact that Batman is actually fluent in martial arts where Superman just relies on strength, and rarely if ever fights seriously, against humans no less... That's pretty much why I'd say Batman might win or at least stand a chance, Superman underestimates him and Batman uses this to his advantage. Hell, that's why Batman more or less wins in the Dark Knight Returns, with the finishing touch of Kryptonite.

@Radix865 Tell me, do you bleed?
Acid and only on mondays.

Depends on the what era superman we're talking about... Golden age Superman would most likely lose to (modern) Batman, he's relatively weak as he gets hurt by simple explosions, and he's kinda dumb too. Silver Age Superman, who is pretty much like a god with infinite speed and able to destroy star systems just by sneezing, would annihilate Batman...or more likely go back in time to stop his parents from getting killed and prevent batman from ever being born, but he would win nonetheless. But if we look at the Man of Steel Superman, he is powerful but he almost got his ass handed to him by three guys wearing hightech powerarmor such as the one Batman is wearing in the movie...and they were not Batman. So I wouldn't really say it's decided.

The last scene when batman talks to superman made me laugh a bit because this was my first thought:

Batman: Tell me, do you bleed?
Batman: You will....

Superman: Really?
Superman: Batman, buddy, eat a Snickers.

Batman: Why?

Superman: Because you turn into a morron when you are hungry.
Superman: Better?

Batman: Better

Superman: Let's play some Mortal Kombat X or Injustice.

Batman: Awesome! i will bring some beer and invite @ruantec to play some Killer Instinct as well.

Superman: @ruantec? the dude will kick our asses with Orchid.

Orchid??? {drool} she is such a sexy beast!

Batman: THAT ASS!!!

Superman: ufffffff..... indeed bro, now i know why we are going lose.

What about it doesn't make sense?

Some bad guy(Luthor or government) frames both of them for something, causes people to turn against them, then drives them to go at each other thinking the other one is to blame... The beginning is obviously talking about how Superman is now hated, how "absolute power corrupts absolutely" and how they were wrong about him just being some guy wanting to help. Then there is the batwing scene that strike already mentioned, and a line on how feeling powerless can make people cruel.

On the battle itself... Well, it could also be that only one of them is actually going after the other, Superman for example would hold back, try to calm things...or he might just not be over with what happened in Man of Steel and up to 100%, both physically and mentally. And you can also see Batman with a sniper rifle(1:34), kryptonite bullet maybe? That would even things out.

Alright, i think this topic deserves a own thread so that we can talk about it. I love marvel comics and stories and i do like the trailer(see below) but at the same time is so pointless in my opinion.

I fully understand the story but i just don't get how Batman can stand a chance against superman. Also both being good guys is just silly to see them fight and to complete the combo in different power levels. Superman can fly, run extremely fast, laser eyes, freeze the air, stop comets, destroy coments and the list just goes further. Batman is an awesome badass who have tons of weapons to kick the butt of his enemies but none of them are a match against superman and this is why i consider the movie fight to be simply pathetic. It doesn't matter which angle i use to see the point of the movie it simply don't make sense to me....

I mean't DC... i was very tired when i wrote that post lol!

They finally gave Batman a voice modulator!

Disappointed it's not Mr. Satan's.

Man, DC have goofed up a bit, Green Lantern movie was pretty weak, there's no Wonder Woman out yet, Aquaman is basically a no show, all they got is Superman and Batdude to run the franchise. Justice League when!

Ah screw it, just let Netherrealm do it.

Why am I ranting! Movie looks pretty good.

I saw the comics where Batman *theoretically" won the match but let's be honest... without kryptonite there is absolutely nothing Batman can realistically do against Superman as his power go beyond anything on earth in the comics. Also in the comics Batman didn't lose because Superman didn't wanted to beat him which is why this doesn't make much sense to me.

Batman is indeed a badass who can beat a hell bunch of human enemies but we are talking here about one of the most powerful dude(if not the most powerful one) in comics.

Although this is the first time they duke it out in a live action movie, they fought lots of times in animations and comics and they always managed to be equal, so my guess is that for the majority of the movie they will duke it out, come out equal in the end and face a common foe, its how the formula always went. With that said seemed that they either changed batman's no killing policies or someone highjacked his batplane/batwing (and personally i believe its the later, someone highjacking his batwing, because we saw the batmobile heading into the disaster, which makes my idea of a common enemy in the end even more plausible because superman would have no need of highjacking a gadget).

PS: that's why i always loved batman he was a an awesome dude who could always used all resources at his disposal (be it gadgets or the environment) to fight his foes regardless how OP they where, he was a walking library of kicking ass.
