I just bought epsxe from the google play store market for my Galaxy note II and ran into some problems with ff9.

When playing Final fantasy 9 with normal settings and the default graphics plugin everything runs very smoothly and stays at a constant 60fps, even the battle swirls and CGI scenes.

Here comes the problem, when i switch to the OpenGL plugin things run fine through the intro until the cutscene with zidane at the beginning, The first battle swirl is a huge mess of colors and the battle menu doesn't appear.

So, if there's anyway to fix these problems please do tell me.
Thank you very much

Edit: Here are my settings

-Cpu Preferences-

Cpu frameskip: disable
Show FPS: enabled

-Video preferences-

Heres your fix!!!!!

Hey there, I made this account just to help a fellow gamer out. And it turns out I just ran into this problem when reading it. I just got a brand new 32GB Nexus 7 and put the 1.8.8 epsxe on it. All of your settings are correct. What you need to do to get the menu to show is go into the "Glconfig" under "More" and at the top it brings up an overlay menu tap "OD" and it should fix the issue.

Hope this helps :innocent:

Howdy all. Any movement on this issue?

I too have the problems when on OpenGL. The pre-battle swirl effects is just a black screen, and even with Framebuffer Texture on. With Alpha Multipass on and Offscreen drawing on, the selection hand has a black rectangle around it. As does the question and exclamation marks above the player's head. If I cycle AM and OD, both those go away for the current scene. But the black rectangles come back the when the scene changes.

One thing I've noticed is the the missing PS logo from the boot screen. I was told it was due to ADRENO architecture, it needs to clear the Framebuffer each VBL because the Rendered buffer is used for caching textures or textures part while the Rendering Process is executed. Wondering if framebuffer filtering can be tweaked to compensate for this.

Game is definitely playable on normal software rendering mode.
