"This will make your pages load even faster.

Stolen from addictedone from GAMEFAQS OMG!!!

1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows: (by double clicking them)

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

Works great." ~ CloudMS07 & Addicted One .::Thanks to him for this::.

Is pipelining working fine for everyone?
I enabled it here, and indeed the pages loaded much faster. However, some pages got all scrambled. Images started appearing in the wrong place in some pages. Does anyone have the same problem?

The page of my bank doesn't work the way it should when I'm doing some financial work online... So I need IE for that.

Rather ironic, for as far as I know FireFox is safer

Windows Update, MSNBC reportedly has some errors, though I could careless about both sites. On Win 98, most sites that use flash dont seem to work right (since flash wont install correctly). This tip works fine for me though. I did notice a speed increase, but I am on dialup so of course its not that noticable. It doesnt seem to cause any problems so I'm going to leave it on.

Thx for the tip,, as for me i use a plugin for firefox for tweak the speed, it does something with pipeline and like what you explained ...., You can get the plugin it much easyer that you posted, here:

https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&id=327

and what i like most with this plugin is, if tweaking will slow down you browsing, then you can easly switch back, there are two profiles the "power" one and "default".....

here is a little pic...
Yours,
