What desktop resolution do you use?

ello, the reason why I'm this thread is to get a consensus on what is the typical desktop resolution that people using right now. We're making a survey on this matter to determine an outline to use for making a website and viewing website, a research thing if you might say.

Well I didn't place this in the computer discussion since its a survey related thing if your gonna say that it should be pointed there.

Hope you all can help and vote in the poll. Additional info and comments would be highly appreciated

i'm sure this has been a thread before, but whatever, i voted for you. i use 1152x864 on my CRT and 1280x1024 on my LCD.

I Mostly use 800 X 600, sometimes 1024 X 768. I guess 1024 X 768 is the standard these days for any site . If you dont like it I would recommen making a site with elastic design.

1024*768 because my crappy LCD monitor won't go past that.
I'd use 1600*1200 if I could.

1280x1024 here, on my 17" LCD.
(I have 2 more PCs in the house which are both on 1024x768).

I use a desktop Resolution of 1280 x 1024.

Anything smaller, I cannot stand. Hell even 1280 x 1024 is starting to look huge to me now

1400x1050 32bit. I can't use anything lower than that atm because all it will do it crop the screen to that size and leave the remainder as a big black border.

1280x1024 for any monitor I use, however I always design for 1024x768 and up.

1024x768, because this highest 4:3 resolution my crt monitor supports with 85 Hz.

1024x768 for pretty much everything, but sometimes when i'm editing pics or something i'll use 1280x1024.

Anything higher and I'd have to cut down on the refresh rate, and that'd kill my eyes. I think that the resolution I have is still considered the standard these days because of many people using either a 17" CRT, or an LCD at the same res, or one higher.

I use 1152*864 and sometimes 1024*768 on my CRT.
When I get my LCD will surely do it higher.

1600x1200 @ 85Hz at my apartment (19" crt)
1280x1024 @ 60Hz at my parents house (19" lcd)

personally i'd like to raise the resolution at both places, but i can't really do anything about the lcd, and the crt can't use 85Hz at higher resolutions =/

1024 x 768 because that's about as high as I would dream of going in games using my current video card.
