Tanacu, Romania - A Romanian Orthodox priest who ordered the crucifixion of a young nun because she was "possessed by the devil" and now faces murder charges was unrepentant on Saturday as he celebrated a funeral mass for his alleged victim.
"God has performed a miracle for her, finally Irina is delivered from evil," Father Daniel, 29, the superior of the Holy Trinity monastery in north-eastern Romania, said before celebrating a short mass "for the soul of the deceased", in the presence of 13 nuns who showed no visible emotion.
He insisted that from the religious point of view, the crucifixion of Maricica Irina Cornici, 23, was "entirely justified", but admitted that he faced excommunication as well as prosecution, and was seeking a "good lawyer".
Cornici was found dead on Wednesday, gagged and chained to a cross, after fellow nuns called an ambulance, according to police.
Mihaela Straub, spokesperson for the police in the province of Vaslui, said Daniel and four other nuns had claimed Cornici was possessed and should be exorcised.
Before being crucified she had been kept shut up for several days, her hands and feet tied and without food or drink, he said.
Cornici had entered the monastery just three months before, after visiting a friend who was a nun there, police said.
As her coffin entered the church of the monastery Saturday no church bells were sounded while nuns cast distrustful glances at the strangers, including two AFP reporters, present at the ceremony.
Claps of thunder from an approaching storm were sometimes the only sounds to break the silence.
"This storm is proof that the will of God has been done," Daniel said.
"You see it?" said the priest, gesturing at the body, lying in an annexe and still showing the marks of the gag. One of the nuns, Sister Martha, added, "She can't be laid in the church because she was possesed."
Daniel has lived for the past four years in the isolated monastery located in the hills of one of the poorest regions of Romania, without running water or electricity.
"Over there, in your world, the people must know that the devil exists. Personally I can find his work in the gestures and speech of possessed people, because man is often weak and lets himself be easily manipulated by the forces of evil," said the bearded young priest.
"I don't understand why journalists are making such a fuss about this. Exorcism is a common practise in the heart of the Romanian Orthodox church and my methods are not at all unknown to other priests," he said.
A 34-year-old parishioner who had come to defend Daniel and gave her name as Dora, said Sister Irina " had to be punished, she had an argument with the Father during a Sunday mass and insulted him in front of the congregation."
Sociologist Alred Bulai said that corporal punishment was still commonly used in certain Romanian monasteries.
"It's happening particularly in the isolated monasteries, where the superiors have difficulty understanding the current realities and adapting themselves to modern life," Bulai said.
Since the fall of the communist regime in December 1989, the Orthodox Church, which represents 85 percent of Romania's 22
million inhabitants, is rated in many opinion polls as the most trusted institution in the country.
Vitalie Danciu, the superior of a nearby monastery at Golia, called the crucifixion "inexcusable",k but a spokesperson for the Orthodox patriarchate in Bucharest refused to condemn it.

I make no assumption of god, what god has put in his book is what I say.
No you misunderstand me, I mean we are not worth QUESTIONING HIS STATUS but we know about him for sure what he has said about him.
And it looks like there is some confusion here, we should not question what we don't know about him however what happens here on earth we can attempt to interpret, like when a disaster happens we must think. Is this a trial? Or punishment? or is it something different all together? However regardless of the conclusion we must understand that what is correct in what we conclude is because of god and the mistakes are ours.

As the bible says (I don`t know what`s written in other holy books), humans were, at the begining of their creation, perfect (like when a child is born, perfect and innocent), but they also were given freedom (free will) to chose whether they want to be good or bad and probably that`s why most humans lost their innocence (like a child after 40 years).

Oh yeah.... I forgot about T3H BOOK (tm) which has T3H ANSWERS.... how could I forget about it... I mean a book wrote by who knows who has actually more worth than the verified and proofed work of countless generations. Sorry, I was at fault.
Don't worry. Long before you came to this forums, there was this another guy who made me read very lenghty articles about the islam, made me do a lenghty research (for my reply) about how faulty serious history about Jesus is... and at the end he just said something about the lines of "it is all his will"... ignoring everything I did. I swear I am not going through that again, since you seem to be happy with your book alone
If you humans at the beginning perfect they would have always chosen to to good. If Adam and Eve would have being perfect they would have chosen not to eat the apple. A being can be perfect in all ways and still have free will. The example about a child being born is not that great. Children are born with many genetic defects, diseases, etc.Cloud Strife 7 said:

Uhh... I meant spiritulally/moraly perfect (a 3 year old child just wants to play, not to kill or to steal) not genentically perfect. I guess you misunderstood me.
... I guess you`re right (I am not sarcastic). I can`t remember quite well if humans were perfect or near-perfect... I guess humans weren`t perfect, but almost perfect, and it was their job to attain perfection (and in the end they failed)... I should read the Bible more often, as I don`t remember quite clearly what it was written about the begining of humans.
Then I guess historians shouldn`t consider books/documents writen by people long ago as proof of what happened. This way, we wouldn`t even know clearly what it was in the Midle Ages (it would have been like what we know about what happend in the Prehistoric era). I agree to the fact that you can`t say it`s totaly corect without proof, but I don`t agree that it shouldn`t even be taken in cosideration as you suggest.

I am not questioning the validity of old documents here. I am questioning tehy being more important than the factual data we can get NOW, HERE, with technology that produces better observations that whatever our ancestors that wrote those books might have had eg: you know better that a thunder or a flood are not signs of the anger of God, but rather well studied metheorological phenomena... not to mention that the Bible cannot really be considered as a serious historical source.

I really don't know what to say. It was obvious this was a fake pic, but the thing is, why would anybody make up something like that? Whoever started this rumour suggested Allah has done something He hasn't.. and I can't think of how big a fault that is. Making people aware is okay, but scaring them with fake stories for absolutely no purpose is absolutely outrageous and unacceptable. May Allah forgive whoever has done this, as long as they know they had done wrong. I think posting an article which could be suspicious, even if it was 1% suspicious, is completely unnecessary, regarding the number of people who are going to read it and how much influence it will have on them
and maybe whoever who did this did so to defame the Muslim Community

هذه قصة فتاه من ولاية الرستاق في سلطنة عمان كانت تتابع قناة غنائيه على الدش وبينما امها كانت تقرا القرءآن الكريم , قالت لأمها ازعجتينا بالقرءان اذهبي الى مكان اخر فاصرت الام على البقاء في مكانها فقامت الفتاه فاخذت المصحف ورمت به على الارض فذهبت الام فحملت المصحف فوضعته على صدرها فسقطت البنت ارضا فخسف الله سبحانه وتعالى بها على شكل( معيسلانه) حيوان زاحف وهي حاليا موجوده في مستشفى السلطاني بمسقط.

Eerie ... boffins have brought dead dogs back to life, in the name of science. SCIENTISTS have created eerie zombie dogs, reanimating the canines after several hours of clinical death in attempts to develop suspended animation for humans.
US scientists have succeeded in reviving the dogs after three hours of clinical death, paving the way for trials on humans within years.
Pittsburgh's Safar Centre for Resuscitation Research has developed a technique in which subject's veins are drained of blood and filled with an ice-cold salt solution.
The animals are considered scientifically dead, as they stop breathing and have no heartbeat or brain activity.
But three hours later, their blood is replaced and the zombie dogs are brought back to life with an electric shock.
Plans to test the technique on humans should be realised within a year, according to the Safar Centre.
However rather than sending people to sleep for years, then bringing them back to life to benefit from medical advances, the boffins would be happy to keep people in this state for just a few hours,
But even this should be enough to save lives such as battlefield casualties and victims of stabbings or gunshot wounds, who have suffered huge blood loss.

During the procedure blood is replaced with saline solution at a few degrees above zero. The dogs' body temperature drops to only 7C, compared with the usual 37C, inducing a state of hypothermia before death.
Although the animals are clinically dead, their tissues and organs are perfectly preserved.
Damaged blood vessels and tissues can then be repaired via surgery. The dogs are brought back to life by returning the blood to their bodies,giving them 100 per cent oxygen and applying electric shocks to restart their hearts.
Tests show they are perfectly normal, with no brain damage.

Breaking the neck of a 4 legged mamal would be hard as you need alot of force and twisting it's head sideways relative to it's colar bone is hard and you won't really get a place to grab on to from the front of it's head,I would just poke/rip out it's eyes with whatever I have (anything from a pointy stick to my fingers)

And don`t worry, God didn`t said that he`ll throw people in hell just for not believing in him, he`ll do that to people who do very bad things (which I don`t see you doing, so don`t worry ) .
Then at least you could say "don`t show me- I`m ignorant" instead of asking for some proof.
