I saw a picture of the F1 game for ps3. I had to look twice to make sure I wasn't looking at a photo. I must admit so far I thought "well, it a looks a tad better than the current stuff", but that was kinda impressive...hoping it wasn't a render.

regarding this i think or "heard" that PS3 can to actually "just"? 2 but thats far enough for me :)
The FF 7 Demo looked nice! i liked it very much!
And about the killzone thing :D anyone who likes shooters, Halo & such stuff will like it ^^
very nice textures, & chara models though!

In the presentation, the guy did say 12 HD video's with full frames. Unless he's lying.

Besides the major game sites did report they saw a showing of U3 engine in realtime.

Something intressing is if MS gets a loss on each xbox 360 sold, how much will Sony lose per PS3 seeing as how it has more of everything 3.2ghz cores.. memory, and transistors on the graphic card? I mean I don't think prices is going to drop that much in 5 months...

Take a look at the Unreal3 engine demo. If that's realtime, then the other demo's are probably also realtime. The PS3's Cell CPU is a physic processing powerhouse. We're going to need a PHysics PPU to get anything similar on a PC.

Well, if you compare KILLZONE with the FF7 tech demo...then you'll see the difference.
But seriously, any hardware guru can possibly explain the strenght of that CELL CPU in PS3?

I think that has already been answered many times. What has not been explained is the graphics chip. Several engineers have said it’s the most sophisticated graphics chip ever conceived.

Not much is known about the Nvida RSX gpu in the PS3. A few tidbits of information so far are:

GPU Core @550 mhz
256 megs of GDDR Vram @700mhz(1400mhz)
35 gigabytes bandwidth for DATA bus to main system ram(256 meg XDR ram)

Not much else is known about it other than it's more poweful than 2 6800 ultra's in SLI. I think the real powerhouse here is the PS3's capability for PHysics calculations with it's CEll CPU though.

Anandtech has a very nice article on the CEll CPU architecture:

Well I just saw the FF7 tech deom and wow..that was awesome...I really, REALLY hope they remake it. Also the killzone was simply amazing...I told my friend we won't be able to tell the difference from a movie and a game anymore...I'm sold on the ps3 from what I've seen so far...simply amazing...

A few things iv been thinkin about

I may be wrong but if i read right it said it could read DVD-R, and other media, but wouldnt that mean it would be possible to actually play copied PS2 games on the PS3? just somethin i thought about. Also about everybody gettin on the PS3's controllers back, if u think about it, it might be pretty comfortable because u dont have clutter all in ur hands, just a nice contemporary light controller...thats just my opinion

I'm amazed by the PS3 probable specs. And it's than a computer with comparable firepower.

If the PS3 is backwards compatible with the PS2, then perhaps I'll buy it once it's out. It'll be the first console I buy in over a decade.

I wonder when terrorists will use next-gen consoles to operate tactical nukes hidden in suitcases...

/me shudders

Another couple Ideas....

This is just me in my farfetched mind but because of the backwards compatibility with PS2 and PS1, im waiting for some graphical enhancements. Particularly for the PS1. For example Anti-Aliasing for in game graphics, that would do a great deal of enhancing. Or maybe something like ORKIN came up with with his "Truform" for the n64 plugin, which subdivides, or smooths the 3d mesh to give it a more, smooth, and organic 3d model, which i think would be awesome. But thats what i said when i got my ps2 and all i got was faster loading times and smoothed textures, hehe...what do u guys think

He didn't just say it.. he showed it. The PS3 is the future, the xbox 360 is not :p, everyone is going to say it's too early, to say anything I know... but I'll say it anyway :D and you can say I was right 3 years from now if you want.

The price is what worries me though, just how expensive will that monsterous PS3 be?

Well the PS3 actually has a large enough framebuffer now for such things as High levels of AA and AF. ;) In fact, I've been hearing that the GT video shown was actually GT4 on the PS2 but running on PS3 dev kits with AA and AF enabled.

WHYYYYY yes it would be, u know u really cant neglect the old skool systems, instead of forgetting the PS1 i say they just give the PS1 engine on the ps3 just a lil polishing... i mean it wont be anything crazy because its the PS1 but it would be quite the feature if u ask me
