King Of Fighter 14's 4 chars DLC have been out.

Very surprisingly is they rolled out version 2.0 at the same time (they purposely hold the news until the DLC are released). Included many extra features, netcode improvements, room search improvements, 2 extra stages for free (one of them looks really cool), lots of characters rebalancing adjustments, etc.

Btw, i am getting this Tekken 7 collector edition, the figure looks really cool!

Interesting, I thought the Scorpio would use Ryzen and Vega. Turns out they stuck to Jaguar and Polaris.
Still, they delivered the GPU power they claimed they would, even if the CPU is a bit lower than expected. But the optimizations they added for the CPU usage are very interesting.
The guy seemed surprised the Scorpio could run a game at 4K so easily, "we don't expect a 6tflop GPU to do this on PC", but he seems to have forgotten it was a Xbox One game. I already counted the pixels previously and saw the Scorpio could run a Xbone game at 4K easily with power left over. With that said, I WAS surprised by the fact it only used around 70% of the GPU. That's pretty sweet.

Overall, it's looking good. Good power, good improvements. A bit surprised they went with older hardware, but I imagine that either AMD offered them a better price on it, or AMD was afraid they couldn't supply the newer tech to both Microsoft and PC gamers. As long as it performs well, it doesn't matter.

I'm really surprised they went with older hardware as well but on the other side they probably had to do that to keep the price low. What's really interesting and what actually isn't doable at that scale on PC are the optimizations they did to the custom chip in order to get the max out of the hardware which is impossible to do on PC due to the different type of hardware we have. Apart from that the 12GB GDDR5 memory is for sure handy and help quite a lot to achieve 4K gaming. As for XB1 games running at 4K.... well the games are running at a higher resolution while using 4K assets so while they are XB1 games it doesn't mean they aren't demanding. At the end of the day Scorpio wasn't meant to get exclusive games as a new generation hardware but more a upgrade to the XB1.

That being said i'm a little disappointed about the hardware choice by still using that crappy Jaguar CPU but looking at the optimizations and all the things they did the hardware is quite capable. Scorpio money is already reserved but i was expecting it to be more expensive. Right now i'm pretty sure the price is gonna be $399 for the entry model as they want to stay competitive to the Pro which is gonna be $349 most probably by the time Scorpio is released.

I would expect the newer hardware to be cheaper when running at the same speed, that's why I expected newer hardware. But since providing a large amount of new tech can be hard at first, it's possible AMD simply felt they couldn't provide for the millions of Scorpio they'd have to ship at first.

And I know that the games are demanding, but even while being demanding, simply going from 1.3tflops to 6tflops is enough to run them at 4K. That's why I was surprised to see him surprised. A circle of surprises. Talking of which: I'd be absolutely flabbergasted if they released it for 400$. Maybe if they release a version with a very small HDD for 400$, a version with a slightly smaller HDD than the Pro for 450$, and a version similar for 499$. I could see that happening.

For MS, possibly the best choice would be to assume the high price of the console, but to bundle unlock codes for Xbone + 360 games with the console. "Ok, so our console will be 500$, but we're giving codes for Forza, Halo and Gears of War with it. So you pay 500$ but you get 200$ worth of games. Cool?". They're older games, sales won't really matter anymore. And giving out multiple digital games is quite easy.

That makes sense and i agree with that.

Btw.... the term "Xbone" is a word widely used by playstation fanboys to trash the XB1. Even MS themselves avoid the use of it... just saying :p

But what does Samor Foundry think of this???
Yeah... waiting for Samor Foundry as well as those newbies at DF ain't the real shit.

How about Sexbox. :p

Granted Sony has VR and the Senran games...

Hmm, when will Senren VR be happening? (I'm not into VR...It gives me headaches.)

An example of the quick fixes added with the new Mass Effect Andromeda patch: shading was added to eyes to fight back against the "dead eye" look characters had.

Also small touches to the makeup, now slightly more blended with the cheek texture.

Motion Blur and DOF quality were also added as graphical settings. Previously they couldn't be modified directly, but could be through the config ini.
Edit: I don't know if this is intended or a bug, but I now see the keypad number tied to each dialogue choice in big font. Previously it wasnt shown at all. It's useful, if far too large.

I just rechecked the DF videos and i have the feeling like MS have a hit here and unless they fuck up big time Scorpio could turn into a damn big success. When I first heard about the console I didn't got excited with the bullshit talk about the "High quality Pixels" crap that annoyed the hell out of me while watching the presentation but the fact that the Surface team is the one designing the console. That MS team is probably one of the best out there when it comes to hardware design and i have a huge respect for that team and it seems they just did it again. Another interesting point is backwards compatibility with 360 titles that is increasing like per week basis, greater framerates overall, 4k textures on XB1 games, 4k resolution, 12GB of GDDR5 Ram and 60fps with a fair amount of GPU power left still on a hardware that is being said to be running at 80% at the current stage is nothing but far better than I actually thought.

XB1 games looks not that bad but when 4k assets are used and a higher resolution as well as better filtering.... well.... we all know the results from Emulators which kinda gives an idea how many great games scale when higher texture packages, resolution and effects are used. That being said this weird generation is about to take another chapter and is gonna be a hell of a ride.

The funny part of the story is that the PS4 Pro will slowly take the XB1 place when it comes to running third party games or even a worst one. However, Playstation still have the sales right? i guess time will tell since the battle of the giants this generation hasn't ended yet and it seems like there is more to it. Both companies seemed to take the risk of a mid-gen upgrade and a lot of interesting choices i never thought i will ever see in the console space happened.

Additional info on the Andromeda patch:
Looks like they did add the new version of Denuvo, the one that hasn't been cracked yet. It seemed unlikely they would, but people have found hints of the new Denuvo protection in it.
Then again, it's the internet, so I don't know if the information is 100% reliable.

If it is, it means people pirating the game won't benefit from the improvements until this new version is cracked.

Scorpio is very interesting. But MS' problem is always it's lack of more popular exclusive games. High chance i will buy it but so far i can only think of a few games that i want to play, Gear Of Wars series and Dead Rising series. Not a fan of racing car, but Forza 3 sounds great. Now i plan to get Scorpio, and i start to hate more about the idea of "exclusives" :p (think about it, if i get a Scorpio, and if Dragon Dogma 2 or FF7 Remake becomes PS4 exlusives, i will be mad cos i don't want to play it on PS4, i want to enjoy 60fps). P/S Think about i will need to pay for PS and Xbox monthly internet fee, that made it feel like not a good idea to have 2 consoles, lol.

I am disappointed with Switch and PS4 Pro, was planned to get them. I so wish PS4 Pro was able to run most games with 60fps, but the result of games can only be run from 40-50+ fps kinda pissed me off. I am glad the lacked of PS4 Pro stock here saved me from buying it.

I hope Dragon Dogma 2 is on the PC. I still have to get the first one on the PC. My rig should be able to play the first one better than the 360 version.

I don't see much on the PS4 (fighting games) or XBOX One (Backwards Compatible XBOX 360 games) that make me want either system.

The PS4 Pro is definitely an upgrade from the OG PS4 but it wasn't a clever one. I would say more of a rushed product driven by VR promises. Scorpio is clever made because is made by a really clever team that with Surface have shown they are capable of creating awesome stuff. However, the biggest difference here is that while they use that old CPU still Scorpio have things implemented that help tremendously.

For instance one of the key features which nobody here seem to have talk about is about the fact that they added a hardware implementation of DX12. Having such a thing at hardware level can do magic and is something we have to do at software level on PC and I guess we know how performance compare between hardware vs software. As if that was all they cut thousands of instructions to just 11 simplifying the whole process. I'm still shocked to see how much dedication MS have put on the console and the move that impressed me most is the fact that they checked the causes why engines tend to run poorly and fixed each of them.

At first I didn't understood the reason for MS choosing DF to reveal this thing but now I think I fully understand why. The whole console structure is very complex and all those tricks aren't easily explanable to those who have no idea what it is BUT since DF are the ones explaining it NOBODY ask questions or try to downplay their statements because they all know who they are. I wasn't positive at first but now i think it was probably a good choice.

Microsoft are able to reach out to anyone who wants to know about Scorpio very easily through Digital Foundry. If they made their own presentation in house it would be costly and probably a waste of time. DF have the audience, all Microsoft have to do is throw them a console and a couple of bucks and their marketing is done. Since they know the reporting industry would do anything for clicks they'll just recycle the info from DF and their job is done.

Cheap and hits the broader market quickly.

It might also prevent MS from looking silly if someone says something stupid during the presentation. When someone says "we have the best pixels" in a video made by MS, they look dumb. If DF says "the scorpio has the best pixels", DF looks dumb. It's safer.

What I'm hoping for is that by revealing the actual specs early, MS gave themselves more time to talk about their next games at E3. "With the hardware out of the way, we can discuss the software that will make use of it"
