It's a gaming laptop, Lex. The additional heat dissipation from a mobile quad core i7 has been taken into account. Besides, my old C2D gaming laptop had a similar TDP. No overheating problems there. :)

Oh, sorry, I didn't readed that. :emb:

Believe me, I've tried talking sense into him, but he doesn't listen. When I posted my netbook up for sale at school I didn't list a price. When he asked, "How much?" I just threw $600 out there, expecting him to haggle. Instead he just exclaimed that it was a great deal and said he'd have the money later today.
You're a clever guy. Educate them.

And, talking about gaming laptops, in my case I bought a Zalman NC2000 cooling for it.

It helps with this hot weather.

My next laptop will be an i7 or equivalent cpu paired with Nvidia Optimus.
With Optimus you get switchable gpus on auto, ex: a crappy intel HD to save battery life and a great Nvidia card when you're gaming.

I'm always trying for it. In the case of computer hardware being discussed with hard-headed noobs, it's difficult to prove that their fundamental stance is incorrect without a direct side-by-side comparison. Really, the best thing for them is to make mistakes on their own rather than in front of me or anyone else for the sake of their "pride".

Other than that, I just conduct "passive" instruction. I don't state explicit facts, rather I give them some "food for thought" so they can decide for themselves.

Meah imo sometimes it just isn't worth it if its some poor clueless guy i tend to help don't rip him off but if its some douche (in the bad sense of the word not in Jonc's awesome sense) with his head filled with impressions i tax him if he is also rich i rip him off as much as i can. Even when fixing PC's i calculated the prices for my services based on the person's approximate income and how of a nice of a person he is... there was one rich guy who once complained (he knew a "poorer" client) why do i tax him at least 4 times (i've even taxed him X6 actually) the price of another all i said was gtfo either got a problem or don't call, guess what when he had a problem he called back .

in my oppinion people are suppost to calculate price on the job they do... i dont think its right just basing your charges the wealthiness of said customer, i mean what does the current customers income have to do with the work you are doing at the moment, i can understand the personality part to a certain degree, since that can conflict with the job at hand, and make things a hell of alot harder...
But thats just my opinion... so sorry about saying that.

note: im not meaning to insult you... and i can understand why you would charge extra due to these conditions.. but i just somewhat disagree with it myself.

I was going to get Zalman NC2000 for my dv5-1050tx, but ended up going with the CoolerMaster Infinite, the difference in temperature is amazing. Ergonomically works wonders too.

So what happened to your old Clevo?

I got an email from Adobe.

They're saying they've dispatched Chuck Norris to my house to deal with my pirating ass.
I'm so sorry for you, Gamefreak. I hope that you survive the round kick from Chuck Norris... :(
I'm following the Gamefreak's joke right, true? xD
